I got a GX E-L2 recently. I have really only used it a couple times just to check it out. Seems to work well and will fit my need of a pump I can take to deer camp, etc instead of a tank. I like the fact it is battery powered and uses Makita batteries as I have plenty of Makita batteries. When researching I watched plenty of CS2 videos as it is the same pump, just not battery powered. If my memory serves me correct the CS2 the fans work independently of the pump and can continue to run after the pump is turned off. On my E-L2 when I turn the pump off the fans go off. Is there a way to keep the fans running for a minute or two after I stop the pump? I am not sure how big a deal this will be as the rifle I plan to use it for the most I can fill it from 100 to a little over 200bar in 2 minutes and 15 seconds so it really doesn’t get hot. I am really just curious.

The manual that came with mine mentioned that the fans would run for 2 minutes after the compressor was shut off. I emailed tech support because my fans shut off when the compressor is turned off and they responded that the factory must have updated the features to no longer let the fans run when the unit is off.

The wiring is very simple in the E-L2. On is on and off is off.
I've got 11+ hours on mine. It doesn't need extra fan time after a fill. Hardly gets warm as it is. Nothing to worry about...

Kind of what I thought. It’s either all on or all off. Like I said in my original post I don’t think it will really matter for my use of topping off rifles to 3000 psi. It just won’t run long enough to get hot based off my couple test runs. It was more of a curiosity post. Seems like they could have installed an separate fan switch.

When wrote them about the manual saying that the fans would run for 2 minutes after powering off, the replied that the manual was wrong that they shutoff when the switch was off as designed.
I haven’t had any issues with the compressor overheating just the battery charger, not much air flow for it.

I charge my battery with the charger "on top" of the battery, for that very reason.
The battery sits on the bench with the charger as exposed as possible, to allow better cooling.

I actually took mine apart & clipped out every other fin on mine. I do like your upside down idea too.
