Gx4i on ac power question

Brand new from gx website, first use. So luckily had some distilled water cause I have a cpap machine. Filled and plugged in , no switch thrown.
I hear a fan running…. Hmmm , push switch to ac and add water. Pump working. Check shut off dial, put dummy cap in and pushed start, confirmed building pressure. Press off and let run for a minute then flip ac/dc switch to middle. Small fan which is the inverter continues to run, I didn’t have a lot of time to see if it shuts off so unplugged.
Is this the way it operates? You have to unplug unit to completely shut down.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, you have to unplug the machine to shut down the fan. I've learned a lot about my new CS4-1 and the new Tuxing filter. It's been an interesting learning experience and I might post a bit on my experiences when time allows.

Here's the bare bones to top off an air tank .
To start:
1. Plug in the compressor - the fan turns on.
2. Set switch to AC - the water pump turns on.
3. Open bleed valve - makes certain that the compressor does not start against any load.
4. Push "on" button - compressor starts.
5. Close bleed valve - pressure starts to build
6. Allow pressure to build to the current pressure in the tank
7. Open the tank valve

To shut down:
1. When tank reaches desired pressure, close tank valve
2. With compressor operating - open compressor bleed valve. Do not try to bleed the system using the tank's bleed valve
3. Allow compressor to run a few minutes with bleed valve open.
4. Turn off compressor - leave bleed valve open
5. Allow water pump to run for 5-10 minutes - leave bleed valve open
6. Turn off water pump
7. Allow fan to run for a while
8. Unplug compressor - fan turns off
