H&N .177 slugs.

I tried these slugs in .177 when the first became available.
Accuracy did not happen for me. Decided to forget them, no further testing.

Just looking back over my notes from the last year, I'm mostly shooting H&N, pellets and slugs, in .22 plus.

In .177, I'm happy with H&N pellets but still using JSB and Zan slugs. Multiple barrels, rifles and speeds.

Anyone used H&N .177 slugs lately? Thoughts? Any design changes? Anything 🙂.

I'm keen to try the .177 slugs again but reluctant to throw money at a past failure.
Still, I'm optimistic someone has some recent experience.

I thought they posted about new .177 slugs like a 10.5 grain ?

Maybe I can dig up that thread from h&n. Seems like a month or 2 ago

Yes, I saw that, thanks 👍. 10gr still not available locally for me.

I was probably asking about the original weight slugs, 13gr upwards.

I guess like most things now can't get them out to market on time or timely..lol

That's the thing, next best in line is .22. Plenty of choice, available all the time. Plenty of feedback from users.

These 177 h&n slugs, the price makes me smile 😊, available now, locally.
Had one negative try with them, but always optimistic. 😉.

Ya, some guns I prefer a .177 like a hw some id only buy in .22 like my gamos for a example. Like a hw .22 or Gamo .177 just don't jive end result for my shooting.

Maybe it my bad thinking on this but in a PCP rifle I could not see going less then .22. ( Probably only go .22 do to ammo choices and availability). Low fps pcp pistol / 10m rifle like .177 would do fine .
I'm not a PCP guy anyway , but when I was looking and deciding it was .22 all the way on any of them .. ijdk... I got crazy thinking on things I guess.

I follow your logic.

For many years I've been a 177 old classic guy. Used often and normally my winter daily users.
Lately my observations have been h&n have been more stable and reliable than others. Especially with pellets in 177, slugs so far in this calibre not so good .

Simply something I'm exploring, 😉.

Been thinking about the baby H&N slugs again. Especially since I now know the H&N diameter, plus knowing that they mainly test with 1:16 twist barrels.
Probably going to be a few weeks, this Thursday a eye operation but at least I'm motivated again.
My missus has the patience of a saint.😉

I just put in an order for the 1:14 twist Alpha precision barrel for my leshiy so we shall see. I also received my at44 177 barrel last week with the rifling being concentric to the barrel (previous barrels were not) and it shoots all other 177 slugs amazingly, so I'm hoping it shoots the H&N slugs well specially given that it has a tighter barrel than the others as well. The barracuda 4.50 fit pretty tight.
