Wow you mean there's things that take priority over air gun fun? Woes me the end is near. Repent..😜

So what makes these 8's special anyway?
Yeah, there is. My very sick 86 yr old father and my job and I've even skipped out on that job if I've needed to. He comes first.

Special? Not really, just new, wanted to give them and try and bought some.

Rained today so I tested the new pellets out with the mighty HW45 Black Star and the HW70 Black Arrow. Was shooting off hand and with sticks at 19 yards.

I tested the JSB 8.44 452's, H&N Baracuda 8.44 451's and the bench mark H&N 8.64 452's.

All the pellets did equally well. Was able to get decent 2 to 3 inch groups. Maybe the H&N 8.64's had better groups but they all shot well enough for soup cans and 2 inch spinners at 19 yards.

Ended up shooting pistols for about three hours with the three different pellets.

When it was all said and done, the H&N's won handily due to cost. The JSB's are going for $20!!! a tin, the H&N's are $12.50 - $13.50 a tin.

I forgot my scale, I want to see how uniform the H&N Baracuda are weight wise. They say "Match Grade" on the tin. In the past H&N's have always had a large weight per pellet deviation.

Darn, will have to do some more testing, maybe play some hookey this week. 😀

Ok, a just because buy then. Nothing new or fancy
They're new to the market. UK shooters got their hands on them first and initial accuracy reports for most were quite good, so I've been watching for them to finally show up here in the States.
Go-to pellets for the three .177 rifles I still have are H&N Sniper Medium 8.5gr. They're no longer made and while I have a nice stock pile, I'm always looking for other pellets that will shoot as well or as close to as well as the Sniper's for the day they're finally gone.

Right there with you steveP. I only have 3 tins of the med. snipers left and every time i let one fly i shed a tiny little pellet shaped tear. I need more pellets like i need another xwife. But magic pellets,,,well that's another story.
I know the feeling. I have some magic .22 pellets for my Pulsar. I rarely shoot the rifle because once they are gone, they are gone.

I managed to sneak in enough time to run 2 chrony strings using my Beeman R7. Rifle is factory stock, chrony is a Competition Electronics Pro Digital, muzzle 12 inches from the first sensor. Accuracy will have to wait for another day.
