H&N Field Target Trophy pellets .

Just got 4 tins of them from PA today.
H&N FTT Pellets seem to be highly rated. Yes??
They shoot well in most of my rifles. But with a few flyers sprinkled in sometimes.

I got 4 tins of them in 5.5 cal.
2 tins are the 5.53mm and 2 tins of the 5.55mm. All of the tins say right on them. That they are 14.66 grain.
I always weigh 20 or so pellets from each tin to get the actual weights and check for consistency.
None of these weigh the stated 14.66 grains.
3 of the tins were nice and consistent.

And 1 tin will need to be sorted. The weights were all over the place with that one. This here explains the flyers that I don’t feel were because of me.

Can you please send us the batch numbers to [email protected] (they are on the bottom label, a photo is OK too)? If these pellets really have such a large weight deviation, we need to have a serious talk with our colleagues in the pellet production.

I’m sure your dies wear. When they do slightly bigger pellets are made. I exclusively use FTT IN EVERY CALIBER.

For the target shooters who want every pellet within a grain
make a hand picked tin lot. Charge a buck more a tin ,you will outsell them as fast as you can make them.

EXCEPT ,.30. None yet made. ( hint, sub 40 grain). I know demand is not there for such as most .30 guys are PCP SHOOTERS. PROVIDE me a pellet I’ll build the springer that does 40 + ft lbs. …… I’m working on two now with re shaped current selections 38 grains.

Oh yeah. Don’t ever stop making .20. legends never die.

WHY? Why not. 🤣

I would buy 10+ tins of .30 in the barracuda match if they would make them. Pretty much all I use in .22 and .25.
