Nation,
I'm probably the original poster of this thread, as I worked with H&N to test their pellets in the Sniper line, particularly the .177 Lights and Mediums. The first batch of them were phenomenal, and the year that they first came out, I took the second highest score with them at the Pyramyd Air Cup using my Marauder. After that, as was mentioned above, the dies were damaged, and subsequent attempts at creating new ones were unsuccessful. Because they couldn't find the consistency and quality of the original Snipers, they chose to discontinue them, rather than put out an inferior product.
Some of the later batches were almost not shootable, the heads had damage, and blemishes on them that hindered accuracy. The original lots of them that shot well, shot groups about the size of a pencil at 30 yards. The later batches of them, wouldn't shoot groups inside an inch at the same distance.
The best substitute so far, has been either the JSB or Air Arms 10.3 Field Heavies. Much the same shape, and wind bucking properties of the original Sniper Mediums.
