Curious as to how you got the night vision through the scope - was that just your scope cam working? Also on skunks, how is the smell when they expire?

My night hunting setup is just a red led hunting light. It produces enough light for my regular scope cam setup (my iPhone) to pick up without any issues and the animals don’t seem to mind the red light. I’ve shined raccoons, opossums, skunks, and rabbits and not a single animal was bothered in the slightest by the red light. I’ve killed 3 skunks in my backyard, and all 3 sprayed when they expired. It stinks pretty bad, but the rain washes away the smell pretty quick. You’ll notice the smell in the area for a few weeks, but it isn’t bad at all after the rain.

I understand that you can shoot a skunk through the lungs and hrart without letting the stink out. I have not verified that technique. YMMV....

I’ve read that as well and I did shoot a skunk in my pest control 15 video through the vitals. It did spray. I’m not saying they’ll spray every time, but mine did so I decided to take head shots on these two skunks to make sure I made a clean kill. They had already sprayed close to my shed, so it didn’t make too much of a difference when they did spray after a head shot.
