N/A HAMMER SPRING TENSION method for documenting

That just makes too much sense!
No surprise then, that I did not think of it
Thanks @MushroomPsyche

Yes, I believe some guns are very sensitive to hammer spring tension adjustments. With my Taipan Veteran, I was dialing miniscule amounts when I was in the final stages of fine tuning. It really pays to be as precise as you can when keeping track of your gun's settings and parameters so you can repeat it later on if you ever have to disassemble the gun for maintenance or repair.

While PCP's WITH OUT regulators and having sufficient hammer weight very much so increase output with greater spring tension. ( To a flow limit of valving )

Regulated PCP's act very differently limiting output by several methods. Pressure within plenum - Hammers weight working with pressure available - Spring rate working with hammer weight - Plenum volume as well porting size controlling flow.

There is IMO a Big ZERO in cause & effect of adjustments without knowing the rest of the specifications of the parts within the firing system !!!

Not quite that black or white ... but you get the drift

Thanks for taking interest @Motorhead

In clarification of my question
I have a new to me FX Royale 500.
An early unregulated version
Currently, as I get to know the gun shooting strings, and evaluating the current tune, no changes are planned
However, a few hundred, hundred shots down the road I may want to make HS adjustments.

Another future option would be to add a regulator,
But more research /knowledge is needed regarding what other changes would be necessary (later model valve, porting, etc)

On both counts your advice is well taken

Edward

Caliber does matter when dealing with a limited plenum volume if going regulated.
The ROYAL line does very well as a regulated .177 - .22 caliber.
Going in .25 cal the available plenum volume if regulated somewhat throttles the output potential w/o having to resort to real high set point pressure.
Most who shoot .25's HUNT, and with that, if the case ? IMO best suited to running at full tank pressure unregulated.

JMO tho admittedly having limited FX Royal .25 cal experience.
