i think it is the same case as the HQ ISSUE Large Double Carry Gun Case i got from sportsmans guide for my gauntlet a few months ago .

https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/hq-issue-large-double-carry-gun-case?a=2071118

it was $100 when i ordered it and i had a $40 SG coupon code so i got it for $60 + S&H which was under $10 IIRC . they are currently selling it for $81/90 + S&H . i have no experience with pelican or other premium cases but these things seem like they're built like a beast to me . very strong hinges , clasp and handle ! the wheels are a nice touch , but i don't really need them . it is a pretty heavy case and even more so with gauntlet and pellets in it . the foam in the middle that is cut to fit the gun is starting to tear on mine and eventually it'll have to be replaced for something better but it still holds the gauntlet securely . it's really only tearing where i have holes to fit double stacked tins of pellets and i'm sure they didn't have that in mind . i stand mine up in the closet with the butt at the bottom .... i would absolutely buy it again .

APACHE cases rock!

Pelican are the nicest and most durable, but also one of the most expensive..
HF did what they do best, and offer a 'clone version' of the Pelican for $50+ less.
[The Pelicans came down in price]

Both cases look and function the same, but, the Apache lacks a bit in build quality.
They're still amazing cases for the money.
I think I have four of them kicking around somewhere. [3800s or 4800s]

Anyways, the shells are excellent quality, impact resistant, etc.
Interiors are foam top w/ pluck-foam bottom..
The interior edge perimeter has a water tight seal.
Nice latches [the metal pins just aren't as tough as the Pelican versions]
The Apache [and Pelican] cases also have spin-dials on the fronts..
They're used to either 'open or close' the 'seal' on the cases..
Close to seal 100% from the elements.
Open to let the cases 'breath' - Ex: for changing elevations / temps

Sportsman's Guide: HQ-Issue cases
Those look nice too. I'm not familiar with them though.

PLANO makes the: "All Weather Tactical Gun Case"
That's another nice looking case..
Most big-box stores and places like Amazon sell em. They're around $130.

Personally, I've been really happy with the price/quality of the Apache cases.
If money was no issue, Pelican all the way, but IMO, Apache is the runner up.
And since I have to buy multiples of them [for high end camera equipment]
I opted to go the Apache route. I highly recommend them.

🙂👍

hq/apache are the same .

Jeff,
Thanks for the heads up & video!
I didn't even spot that HQ had the dial/valve also. Nice!

Bought one today. The case is very robust. I used to own a Plano case and the only difference I can see is the Plano case has two extra latches at the ends.

I caught that Plano had put out a few versions of their case also..
Apparently a bunch of people complained about the latch positioning,
so Plano did a revision, and then offered both v1 and v2 for a while.
[I had them both on my Amazon watch list for a while]

🙂
