Hardwood stock on my Hatsan 125 Vortex

Greetings all,

I have always been a sucker for the traditional hardwood stocks on my firearms and airguns, as well, so when I recently purchased a Hatsan 125 Vortex in .25, I already had it in mind that I was going to drop my 125 into my 135 carnivore hardwood stock and I really love the look.

Initially I did a Google search for hardwood stocks for the 125 and came upon a seller on eBay who had a hardwood stock that was for a 125 but when I received it, it didn't fit because the two holes at the fore end where you would lock down the gun to the stock were a little too far up ahead, maybe by about a half inch or so. My only other option was to drop it into my 135 carnivore stock.

Everything seems to fit in place perfectly fine but I have yet to fire it to see how everything holds up, so hopefully I don't have any issues. I was hoping perhaps that a member on the forum had made this modification and could detail any issues that they experienced...

For anyone else out there who is thinking about making this conversion, here are a few before and after pics so you have an idea of what things will look like. Enjoy!

Thanks, Brent. I've never really been too big into synthetic stocks and I really did wish that Hatsan made their Turkish walnut stocks an option on all of their airguns. And the quality and craftsmanship of their stocks is very nice. I'm actually considering swapping out the brass trigger from my 135 and putting that onto the 125 for some added aesthetic appeal. That, and a nice quality piece of glass on it, and it will be perfect.

Just curious. Are Hatsan stocks sealed or stained only? I've read several different replies and discussions about this. I messaged Hatsan USA and the rep (Shane) said they come stained, but not sealed. The feel of my stock feels as though there is a varnish or shellac on it. The stock in your pic looks really nice! Have you done anything with it such as refinishing it? I'm in a toss up of Tru Oil, linseed oil, or just rub some wax on it. Thanks for any and all help! -Dan
