Tuning HARMONIC FINE TUNE FOR THE FX MAVERICK

Happy New Year Folks!

Has anyone figured out a fine tuning method for the Maverick shooting slugs? Sure would like to know before I plunk my money down on one. My guess is that you'd use the Allen screw on the hammer spring adjuster and painstakingly shoot groups changing the velocity at tiny increments until that magic 1/2 MOA group appears? If you fail, you adjust the reg a few bars and try the whole exercise again. I know that's what the Impact guys are doing by using the valve adjustment knob and it's giving miraculous results. Unfortunatly the Maverick doesn't have that adjustment.

Thanks Fellas,

What you said is 100% correct, it is not an impact. However even on impact I would get the ernest Rowe carbon liner sleeve and the need for harmonic fine tuning is greatly reduced. Also the maverick and the impact both shoot sub 1 inch fairly easily but any sort of consistent sub 1/2 MOA will most likely require you to swags your own slugs or at the very least resize the slugs after sort and weight then clean and lube. also don’t forget the indoor 100 yard range.

I’m happy with sub 1 inch, good enough for hunting.

Thanks Qball,

I was thinking the same thing...it ain't an Impact, just real close. There has to be a few little things about the Impact to make customers want to take that extra 300-$500 step. Alls fair in love and retail sales.

Stay safe man,

From shooting performance perspective once you find a good tune I honestly don't think they would be much of difference if any. Impact has a few nicer features but when it comes to putting pellet or slug exactly where you aim they are the same.
