Has Anyone Received Their MRod Compressor

If you hold to that ( figuring you should be able to make a customer list in a hour, or maybe by the end of today ) and every single one ships today everyone should be very happy in no time!

It would be great to have another, stocking, dealer of air compressors suitable for airguns .

I have to make a comment.

Upfront, I will say I did not preorder. I am in the market for a compressor.

I watched the latest video from Mrodair.com and saw the exhaustion on the faces of the gentlemen trying to get information out. Clearly they have touched a nerve in offering these lower cost compressors to the air gun enthusiast. We are excited at the prospect of having fast, clean fills at a reasonable price point but have exhibited no patience for delays.

Yes, they have had delays in delivering the compressor. In defending Mrodair.com, a lot of us have ordered products from China and waited a month. He has commented in regular posts throughout the many forums, that he has sent evaluation comments and recommendations to the Chinese vendor for improvements. This clearly takes time for the end product to make it to the end consumer. He appears to be genuinely offering a product and is trying to ship us a product that meets his standards. Yes it appears that he has budget and labor constraints but that is not news to us, I believe that is why the product is at a lower cost.

Clearly Mrodair.com is a small business trying to make ends meet. These forums have many comments is including Mrodair.com that explained the issues, his attempts of resolution, and the subsequent delays that have occurred..

There are many vendors of high priced compressors that are not affordable to most of us, but if you want a proven track record product, it is going to come at a significant cost.

Stop bashing, this does not help anyone. Please make informed comments that constructive in nature.

Please everyone that has one or is receiving theirs, post your comments, good or bad. Let us know how much shipping was to the West Coast. Show an unpacking. open up a Carbon Fiber bottle that been filled once or twice.

That is what will help all of us...

I am also in the market for a compressor.
I have never had an issue with communicating with Mrodair.com. All of my inquires are answered in forums or emails. I also watched the latest video and didn't see anything that wasn't what I would expect from a small business doing their best to bring a price point/quality item to market.

i'm guessing mid = middle
pak =(group,bunch,lot) what he is calling all of the compressors in this group
so he ordered sometime in the middle of the time period this group of compressors were being ordered
and the projected delivery date is the date the delivery service (USPS) is forecasting you will receive it when you check the tracking #
i have no idea if i am at the beginning, middle, or end of the time period
but i am still waiting patiently for an email from them (MRODAIR) with information

I received my compressor today!
It was on my door step when I got home from work. Which was a surprise. I had been expecting a call or email before being sent.
Sorry I can't give any details about the compressors performance due to not getting the pump, radiator, or tank yet. I spoke to Michael with Mrodair and asked about the missing upgrade parts I was informed they had been shipped separately to prevent damage to them. Also I highly recommend that Mrodair add a case ground for safety. So far so good.

I picked up my airmax extreme from my local post office yesterday. I'm pleased with this unit so far and that mrodair has made the effort to provide the initial configuration upgrades. It takes time to do these things folks and it's a safer way to go than buying it online from some bonehead in Taiwan that likely doesn't speak English.

So far the only comments that I have for improving the product are:
1) The unit was double boxed which is good but perhaps placing a thin/rigid piece of wood (1/4 inch) on the top and sides (having panels) of the unit, outside of the plastic wrap, would add more protection. Apparently USPS put some heavy loads into the box that bent the top and one side panels. I was able to push the top panel back into shape without removing it, but the side panel will need to be removed (easy enough to fix).
2) The pressure gage could use an elbow fitting to take the bending strain off of the pressure line connected to it.

I will post some pics of my setup when I get it together. I have a good sized desiccant dryer (rated for shop air) that I'm thinking of putting on the inlet side of the 1st stage of the compressor. I will supply the inlet to the desiccant dryer with 5-10psi (regulated) from shop air so as not to starve the 1st stage, in case there is any resistance passing through the dryer. I will add a flow meter to monitor inlet flow. I will learn more about the cooling and pressure cutoff when I get into it.

The quality of the components look pretty good and I think this thing will last just fine if properly operated and maintained. I'm happy to pay the $70.04 shipping cost as requested in the paperwork.

If you are going to consider a Taiwan unit, it is much lower risk to source it from mrodair in my opinion.

There are variables brother.

the distance from the breaker and wire size used on that circuit is just one of them.

A 30 amp line, would be a better choice.

We tested these with an amp meter and found starting amps are 15-16, but can develop 20-21 in extended runs once the pressure gets to 4500 psi.

This is on a non dedicated circuit, in the shop using 12awg wiring, so bear that in mind.

The longer and/or lighter run of wire you have, the more amps they will pull.

This is the reason light duty extension cords are not advised when using the compressor.

Well yes, once "run in" they do become much more efficient with the power requirement.

several of our customers, (not sure if they are forum members) have been very forth coming with their praise of the new compressor.

We have also a couple, that needed our assistance getting them setup and 2 so far, with small issues we are addressing already.

One, in particular, uses it for a paintball filling station at a local course and appreciates the rapid fill rate for sure.

There is ALOT to consider when getting a compressor.

For instance, we are asked all the time about run time before rebuild.

This depends mainly on how the compressor is used, regardless of manufacturer and ours is no exception.

Those who have them, should try filling direct into their favorite pcp.

This is how we use ours and have been running the snot out of it.

I can't imagine much wear, when running less than a minute and only going to 3000 psi.

Tanks have their place for sure and these fill those very fast, but when at home filling direct is like getting free run time.

Over this weekend, we are editing another video, to explain the installation of the cooling upgrades, more in depth setup and use.

Bear in mind, I have more than 1900 airguns just delivered to put away on shelves and inventory in the morning, so I'll be calling it an early night tonight and away from the keyboard until late tomorrow.

Both direct answers to your question in particular and in detail.

Our compressors, are posted about on 5 forums in the US alone and I comment, answer and assist on every one of them personally.

Being realistic about your expectations of my reply would be helpful and rhetorical questions or statements, will not elicit a response. 

We reply, based on the information we have, not guessing and certainly not trying to mislead you, so when we do not or have not the information you inquire upon, we must defer to others.

As stated above and now again, there are a few already in service and I gave a very descriptive reply about how they (the customers that have reported directly to me) are being used and even the issues we have had reported so far only minutes after you asked.

Out of 80 compressors shipped, only 4 were not fully upgraded, so how did I not answer your question.

No you did not answer any of my questions
i ask you via email why the brass 90 degree fittings will not fit the compressor and you have not answered that question
i ask how in the world can the 4 gal thing be used when you drilled two big holes into it and 
how is it supposed to be hooked up to the radiator ? which is supposed to be easily connected by the 90 degree fittings that don't work
you say just drop the pump into a 5 gal bucket ? why did we buy all this cooling upgrade ? 
and i ask what is the 2nd blue arrow on the pressure adjustment for ?
and i still would like to know if there is anybody here on one of the forums using these upgrades ? not your sayso
and if so would they please show how they using them ? you haven't even shown a compressor using all of the upgrades 
i/we should NOT have to wait til later in the week for you to make another video that may or may not answer all the problems

At this price point I am interested for my vacation property. After reading all the forums, it seems this compressor is better served for direct filling guns and not for filling larger scba tanks?? My home compressor is an industrial grade compressor that easily fills both my Guppy and Tiger Shark tanks back to back in around 12 minutes total from 3000 to 4750psi. Is this a capability for long term use for this compressor?? How many total hours have you put on a test unit before the compressor needs rebuilt?? Is there a 220V option for this unit?? Do you have a molecular sieve filter available for this compressor??
