Has anyone shot NSA slugs with FX Dreamline .177 500mm

Just wondering Has anyone shot NSA slugs with FX Dreamline .177 500mm? what’s the best speed/accuracy you got out of it?

what about crown? What’s the best speed and accuracy out of a 177 crown? I assume crown will have more power but not sure how much more in 177 given same length barrel?

The sweet spot for my Dreamline compact in .177 is 760fps with 12.5 grain nsa slugs. Not sure why but I want to try the 15 grain nsa slugs at 1000 FPS like Motörhead. Or just get a 177 barrel for my impact because I’m sure it can do that.

Top left 15 grains at 940 fps, bottom right OLD 15.5 grains at 940. Good results with 12.5 grains at 980-990 fps aswell. Fx dreamline .177 500mm with huma pin probe, huma port, .25/.30 hammerweight and double plenums reg at 150

edit: superior linor from krale!

@qball

also the huma high power spring! Went from 900 to 920 by just adding the spring before tuning

thanks again! Just curious how fast was it shooting the 12.5 grain slugs stock form?

Man i dont know, installed parts really fast as i was power hungry. i do think the 16.2 grain jsbs was at 880-890 stock(155 bar), now at 960-70.(150) 12.5 grains now is breaking the soundwall at max, on low 980 winter season

WOW!!!! That’s impressive! I obviously won’t do all the mods but hammer and TP will be on the list of mods, tempted to grab one of the GRS dreamline .177.

With the tube you will get 23-24 shots 16.2 grain at 960fps (well i did) now i get about 3 mags with bottle

I probably won’t shoot that hot so if I can get 2 mags I’m good! Will shoot low power in the yard and 2 mags are more than enough for hunting. I have the bottle on my compact and honestly prefer the feel of the tube even at half the shot count.

Thanks again for the great info.

I’m still really torn between the GRS Dreamline and the crown. GRS stock is amazing but no HS power adjuster. Crown is everything I want but the GRS version is too heavy!

Whoa!!! About time!!! Guess it will be 6 months before that gets here, LOL!

since I don’t have unlimited funds like some folks here on AGN, I can’t decide on which gun. Think I’ll just wait for the .177 superior liner becomes available/standard first and maybe the new impact would be out too.

edit: make that superior heavy liner! I shoot pellets at 650-680 FPS so faster twist rate isn’t an issue and having a slug barrel will 100% stabilize the slugs even at low speed! This would work perfectly for my 1 gun = 2 guns strategy! This stretchy worked perfectly for my impact .25 with slugA/superior heavy liner.

Called FX-USA and talked to Melissa and she said anything recently purchased all have the superior liners even in .177. I should have the superior liner given I received it mere weeks ago. Either way given the accuracy I got from the slugs I’m happy with the performance regardless. Hopefully they will have the superior heavy out soon.

Am asking just to be sure, specifically for .177 because on the official FX Airguns website, if you select Maverick or Wildcat MkIII in the barrel section says Superior Standard Liners, except 4.5mm. I am really confused...

I can confirm the .177 superior liner standard is real, as I bought one at krale. I live in Norway, btw. An easy way to distinguish it from the smoothtwist-X, is that the the rifling turns the oposite direction. I got already 3 .177 smoothtwist X barrels for 3 different FX guns, and the old ones all twist the other way. At the moment I am in a prosses of tuning my impact for pellets, and so far it shoot with the same accuracy as it did before with the old liner. I have ordered some 12.5 grain nielsen slugs from krale also, but they was out of stock, so I might have to wait some before I got them. My plan is to try them out when it is getting warmer outside.
