Hatsan Hatsan .50 Piledriver barrel shortening

I have a .50 Piledriver and I am looking to shorten my barrel also as with a DonnyFL GreatKami (14" long) it's abit on the long side. Chuckhunter took 10" off of his .457 but I thought I saw him later say he wished he only took 6" off. Has anyone else shortened their pile driver barrels (what cal. what length any stat's before and after for FPS/FPE and accuracy ??

Appreciate whatever information that others have experienced.

i have thought about doing it with my .457, but its so very accurate and powerful as is.......
i dont want to fix something that ain't broke ....NO !!

maybe i can pickup a used .50 one day and chop away for an arrow shooter

I bought an extra barrel from HatsanUSA it was like 180.00 so I will experiment on the spare barrel and keep a stock one.

Lost about 150fpe chopping the barrel but is the best thing I could have done to it in my opinion! Made It an easy carry carbine and hunting companion out of Cain pole looking rig! Lol. Have taken several deer out to 80 yards!

ChuckHunter, would you think I should take 10" or 6" off my spare barrel ?? my moderator is 14" if I use it so I am thinking 10" route. Also how much of an issue is it to swap barrels on these piledrivers ??? any tips on barrel removal/install that you can share ?? as Hatsan does not give out those instructions.
