Here are some pictures of the shot patterns. I'm not totally happy with the way my first sabots are working and have a couple of ideas to make them better. I will be making some new prototypes and testing them using a lighter wad material and another crimping style. I have 25 more of the first batch of sabots to test also.

Cool project, thanks for sharing it’s development. I was wondering about mixing the shot, maybe some #9 as well as #6. Did you try the shot in thin plastic bag yet? Imagine how fun it would be to jump shoot sparrows and starlings...like duck hunting!

Made shots using BB lead shot will be testing on Monday.

I wonder if one could buy the. 30cal sabots and make it work in a hatsan. they are .310 size so know if that would be to tight in the bore.

It is bored and polished to 8.1mm that makes it closer to a .32 caliber. The .30 sabots would be to loose.

Thanks for posting that. Cocking looks like a hell of a work out! It’s been interesting watching how it developed. Wouldn’t want to be the critter on the other end it!

I wanted to try the sabots in mine but I think .310 size would be to tight for the bore. Be nice if could shoot a smaller pellet for some speed.

Will be testing some new sabots for my 130QE 8mm shotgun mod this weekend. These are the 3rd generation sabots. The second gen ones work okay but I think there's always room for improvements.

Have you tried shooting them against plywood or anything? (With eye protection and mouth closed lol)

Have shot soup cans, apples, cans of soda etc.... vis targets two rats a squirrel and a starling. And when I'm shooting it on my range it always 25ft or less and wear eye protection
