Tuning Hatsan Blitz Breech O-ring

Hi

I am almost positive that the breech seal on my Blitz .30 became dislodged somehow. After owning it for a few weeks I finally really got into sighting in and testing it. It functioned fine and had good accuracy. However, the pellets seemed to be quite slow, and would barely even stick in a piece of 1/2" plywood target backing at 35yds. I fired over the chrony to verify, and only read out to around 500fps. I have an RMA to sent it back, but I think this should be a relatively easy fix. I like to check youtube to see if the task I am looking at is within my own capability, or better left to a pro, but cant find anything helpful there. Can the o-ring be re-inserted without removing the barrel? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated before I let the air out and put her on the bench.

Thanks

even if you had to pull the barrel you dont need to degas, just take the shroud off, the set screws, twist the front operating piston out of the way and slide it out .. id have a couple of transfer port orings ready to in case theyre chewed up .... but if you have some silicone oil onhand which you need anyway, a good light, and use something like a couple of qtip sticks (the hard paper kind) for a tool to help you manipulate it in place i think it could be done without pulling the barrel ...

I just got thru testing the Blitz .30 with a new breech seal O-ring installed. Clocked @640 fps with the Hatsan 48.6gn pellet, and 685 fps with .300 lead "0" buckshot ball. Still kind of disappointing, but within 20% of 730. I am going to wait until performance & functionality starts getting spotty before removing the stock and messing with the hammer spring.
