I finally got my Hatsan 95 back from repair. I sent it ten days ago. The rifle has about 25-30k shots through it total. It's had 2 replacement triggers, 2 springs and two seals. It will be one year old next week.

It's my 6th Hatsan 95. I have a couple more newer ones and a few broken ones in the closet

When I sent it off I decided to refinish the stock. It's a Mod. 65 thumbhole. I have had 3 different Mod 95 actions it it. It's seen around 100k shots. I stripped off the lacquer and gave it an old fashioned linseed oil and shoe polish finish.

It's pretty plain wood with lots of tool marks burned into it. I just rounded up the corners and took some material off around the trigger guard. Sanded out all the bumps and dings. It's smooth as glass and feels like skin to the touch. Not too much to look at as far as grain and patina goes.

When the rifle came back yesterday the safety didn't work right. The trigger was almost impossible to pull. It shot well considering you needed vice grips to shoot it.

I opened it up and found a missing clip on the safety cam. And some hard plastic debris in the trigger housing. It didn't take long to fix it.

I notified Hatsan about it. No big deal for me but definitely a frustration. They have never failed me before with many repairs so I'm not worrying about it too much. The gun probably worked fine when they tried it.

The trigger now breaks crisp and easily. Just like it has for thousands of shots. The stock feels like you are holding a woman's leg. It's shooting crosmans at 720 fps @4000 feet altitude. It will shoot a 3/4" hole at 25 yards with a flyer once in a while.

It's not fancy or expensive. Its a bit rough. And it won't shoot tiny dots. But it's a superb offhand gun that just won't quit even after shooting hundreds of shots a day, every day for a year.

It's 22 and shoots about 715-720. The chrono is a bit flaky depending on how bright the day is so speed is a rough estimate. It sends them pretty good though.
Yeah, sorry. I reread the OP and you had that info in there. I think I was distracted with the way you described it like holding a woman’s leg… 😆🤠

You sound like you know what you like, and thats all that matters. Thats some good shooting 25 yards offhand (y) 🎯

Thank you very much!

I broke a lot of those guns learning how to shoot unsupported. When things are perfect and I'm in the groove stuff really flies.

I've been shooting one of those guns for about 6 years now. Just hammering away every day and trying different things. Every miss is a lesson and I've had a half million lessons.

The guns are inexpensive and it's a bad idea to get attached to one. But this one has lasted so long I wanted to show it off.

It is like a woman's leg! Your hands just melt into the oil finish. Freshly shaved soccer mom is the closest thing to an oiled walnut stock. It's a scientific fact!

It keeps the gun from rattling around in the case. Keeps the pellets from knocking around. And it keeps my elevation screw from changing position.

In the back of an FJ40 land cruiser bouncing up a canyon you need all the foam donuts that pyramid can supply. I love those things!
Hatsan was my first springer I took delivery in September 2024. After five shots the cocking would not lock. I returned it that same day. Once burned twice shy. I now have an HW97 and am very satisfied.

Yeah. They are a problem.

I shoot an HW97 too. Its an awesome rifle. You aren't going to find a much more accurate springer at any price.

I've got a D34, an HW95 and a Cometa 400 too. All of them are much better rifles than the ol' Hatsans.

I still shoot my Hatsans more than any of them. I'm not sure I'm going to replace the Hatsans when they break any more though.

They are great fun and excellent plinkers. They certainly leave a lot to be desired but you can't beat the price.
