Tuning Hatsan Hydra leaks from 200 bar to 150 bar then holds steady

Hello airgun community, I have a bit of an issue with a still-under-warranty Hatsan Hydra .25

I've had it for maybe 5 months and shot about 300-400 pellets. Really do like this gun for the ergonomics and light weight. I have only pumped it with a hand pump.

A few weeks ago I noticed that I would wake up the next day after filling it up to 200 bar (max fill) and I'd see it at 150 bar. So I filled it again several times and the same thing happens, but it takes at least several hours for this slow leak to occur. I've had it holding at 150 bar steady for well over a week now after filling it to 200 bar.

I didn't know this was a "thing" where a leak would stop itself.

One thing I could mention is, I think I slightly overfilled it to about 220 bar before this started happening. Then I took a couple dry shots just so I wasn't keeping it overfilled. I have no idea if this could have anything to do with it. All my other airguns leak zero air.

I'll probably have to send this back to Hatsan but appreciate if anyone has any tips or advice. Thanks!

hpa will act like that its fairly common .. theres not too many places a leak can happen and its usually on a thread like the gauge, but sometimes a oring can be shaved or something on a burr somewhere .. its up to you, you could identify the leak with some bubbly water and fix it but it is kinda bs on a new gun, so its up to you .. it would be good experience to work on it if you can, things like that eventually will crop up ...

Sounds like its holding pressure between the far side of the regulator and the valve/transfer port, but you have a leak between the near side of the regulator and the fill port.

Not sure that it has a regulator, but if it does and is leaking post regulator the air would leak all the way down to zero. It's likely a loose fitting. I had a fill adapter that would to that. You could fill to 150bar then once you got over that the air would start leaking out.

There's no regulator on this gun but I appreciate the food for thought.

This gun does make a weird sound when I fill it (hand pump) that none of my other guns do. Almost like letting air out of a balloon by pulling the outlet flat to make a funny pitched fart sound or a brief sound of a whoopie cushion. Every time it takes a pump. Although it does seem to pump up normally and efficiently.

Now that I think of it, I'd bet there's a seal causing that sound that's also responsible for the leak.

Most Hatsan's make that sound when filling, and yes you might have a leak at the fill port valve, put a balloon over the fill port end of the cylinder, if the balloon fills, it's your leak, some times a seal will only leak under high pressure, so try the balloon test on the Barrel muzzle too, if that is the spot it is your Poppet leaking. also check the gauge to make sure it is not leaking, use soap bubbles.

Also try putting a few drops of Silicone oil in the gun through the fill port, put about 5 drops of Silicone oil in the probe and then pump it in with your pump, do this when pressure is low in the cylinder to make sure the oil gets in the tank, the oil will lube all internal parts and it can fix leaks some times or it will help in leak detection by looking for oil leaking at seal points,

I got one too and love it for the same reasons as you but mine leeked right out of the box 3 days ago i found the air was coming out of the transferport not sure what to do next try and fix or send it back and wait untill 2022 to shoot.. i have not read all that replys on your post im hoping someone will know whats up.. fun gun glad i got a compressor or id be pumping my butt off.
