Hatsan Neutron Star cal.25

I'd advise against it. Issues/complaints I have had with mine:

1. debounce fork galling hammer, creating metal shavings inside of gun.

2. no de-burring on any machined parts. poor quality finish on receiver as well. my receiver came from the factory with finish applied on top of a large gouge in the metal as well.

3. transfer port on barrel machined in the wrong spot (doesnt line up with receiver port)

4. stock cheek riser... ZERO attempt to match it to the stock

5. valve housing made of soft brass. responsible for holding the front and rear halves of the gun together (I actually broke mine). New ones should be steel now.

6. gas block pictured above was not milled anywhere remotely close to square causing the gun to assemble crooked. (had to face it square by hand)

7.trigger group housing is made of PLASTIC. Too much flex, spongy trigger. I was able to improve it considerably by removing a counter weight in the group, but it is still spongy.

8. Barrel weighs almost 2lbs and is very long making this a VERY front heavy and awkward gun compared to some others.

9. Factory included single shot tray is insulting at best. I made my own eventually.

10. My recevier magazine cutout is far too deep. Magazines dont even fit right in the gun, and significant receiver structrural integrity is lost.

11. Overall, LOTS of sloppy, lazy, careless machine work on this thing. And poor finish on the stock, and many of the parts as well.

I could keep going

Here's mine now. I have a love/hate relationship with it.

I still have the original 24" .177 barrel, but it usually has a 14.25" .22 barrel on it

Right? And no problem. I was fortunate I only paid roughly %55 of retail, but it was still a brand new gun, not refurbished. Directly from Hatsan USA. I really thought I was getting $900 worth of gun. Maybe $300 best case. I also bought a used sortie after, and surprise surprise, it was just as janky. The only thing hatsan really got right is the valve housing design. It has a ton of outlets going to the main barrel port, and best I can tell, they create turbulence working against eachother, making for a very flat shot string for an unregulated gun. Other than that, sometimes you get a good barrel, no other redeeming qualities. (detuned shot string on mine below with crosman .22 pellets and 14.5" barrel)

But even at close to half off, I feel I over-paid for it. But I've put so much time and work into fixing it and making it better, it's hard to part with it now, lol. I did actually try to sell it at a steep discount initially, but no one wanted it.

I have a Neutron Star in .25 that I bought refurbished. For the first year it was shooting great, then I saw a drop in accuracy. I check the barrel screws, scope, clipping in suppressor, velocities, etc. I cleaned the barrel then put a magazine through it to foul the bore a bit. Still erratic. I'm kinda out of things to try I think. It's a fun powerful airgun, but it apparently won't stay a laser beam forever. I'm thinking it's time to stop playing with these Turkish rifles and just get an FX Impact.

Steve at AEAC reports the Neutron Star in .22 he reviewed does not like pellets but loves slugs. Have you had accuracy problems with slugs?

Steve at AEAC says that 80 shot (un-regulated) consistent string was a huge plus in his mind.

purchasing hatsan guns are like playing the lottery....
i have had many probably 20 or so.
i only have an invader .25 for its fun appeal and of course the
piledriver in .457.....
lets just say, nothing i have shot hunting with it this season has
got away !! 3 deer & 4 hogs
and still another month to go.
much better than the texans and others i have had.

Also failed to mention the rails on the receiver are so weird. Neither the Weaver or picatinny are anywhere close to spec for the dimensions they should be. A lot of mounts don't fit or fit poorly. Spacing for picatinny is also far out of spec and appears to just be randomly milled by hand. So annoying. If I pull a scope off of a properly specd gun, I have to re-arrange the mounts on the scope and re-level as well, assuming the mounts will fit.

Mine did not like slugs or pellets. Always got fliers. No mod,. No shroud, didn't matter, the barrel had a low spot somewhere in the middle, so other than chopping it really short or getting another barrel there was no fix.
