Just received my new pile driver .50 cal. Cocked it and air it up, went to shoot it and it barely makes a sound. 2nd shot got louder. By the 8th shot it looks to be only shooting 300 fps. And after the 8th shot it only used 75 bar of air, it should have been empty. I also noticed while holding the gun and tip it front to back you can hear what sounds like the hammer sliding back and forth. Didn’t know if this was normal or not. Hopefully some other hatsan owners can chime in. Sounds to me like the hammer isn’t hitting the valve hard enough to open it.

Hate to say it but sounds like a broken hammer spring. Shouldn't hear the hammer sliding back and forth it's under constant pressure! My .45 gets 3 shots from 300 to just under 200 bar!

When it’s cocked you don’t hear it moving back and forth. But when it’s not cocked is when you hear it. Is yours like this. Thanks for responding

I bought it from a member on here. It’s brand new , he said he won it. I may tear it down and see if the spring is in-fact broken . It’s just weird how it slowly got faster with each shot

Wonder if it's a two piece hammer and came apart some how. I've never had mine apart except removing the barrel to be shortened! It's never missed a beat.Upvote 0
When I get it apart and find out I will let you know. Have you ever removed your bottle. The manual says it can be removed while under pressure. Just wondering if you drained your bottle or took it off while pressuredHuh! It is weird

You’re right, just took the stock off and I see the gas piston. And a chunk of metal fell out

Yup gas piston, It may have been my suggestion, when Cecil was looking for a heavy enough spring to make the gun dump more air per shot. Most likely buried in a post on the GTA

I just wonder what’s the purpose of this knock lever piece that broke. I know it sits between the valve and the hammer. And hatsan calls it a “tuning kit”. It just looks like a way of extending the hammer length to me.

I fixed the knock lever and now it shoots great. This gun is super easy to work on, reminds me a lot of the old qb78/79 guns. Thanks for the help on this one guys.
