Hatsan synthetics?

I have a Hatsan AT44-10 and with its walnut stock its a heavy rifle. Do they make a synthetic stock for this rifle? I use mine for both target and hunting and do a lot of spot and stock. After a while of going up and down these hills this rifle begins to feel like a ton of bricks. I recently installed sling swivel studs and a sling, but would still like to lighten it up a little if possible. Can anyone offer up any help or information on where I could find a stock/ Thanks, Mike.

The AT44 has two synthetic stock options. You could order either of them from Hatsan USA as a spare part but I doubt you'll notice a significant weight saving. The tact synthetic stock is actually heavier while the regular synthetic stock is only a little lighter than the wood.

Your best bet is to make your own. I made a lighter stock for mine. It wasn't too difficult and it's much better quality than the original too. Still, even with a lighter stock, they will never be particularly light.

"Alan"Once up on a time..... I owned a Hatsan AT44-10QE in .25 caliber. It came with a synthetic stock. The "wooden" stock was just $100 plus a bit of shipping. Turned out it is actually a pressed wood product which is indicative f the low price you pay for it. The difference in weight was less 3 ounces.
I've never seen a press wood product on an AT44 stock. I refinished my last stock and can assure you it was a solid block of wood. I'm about to refinish another in the coming days and will take pictures to prove it. Spiral Groove over at GTA have refinished several Hatsan stocks from springers and PCPs and document his projects. All have been from solid blocks of wood.

"wormbobskey"Well I guess this would be as good a reason as any to convince the wife I need anew router and bits. Has anyone tried to lighten the wood stock with any success?
Yep, It usually costs me a bookshelf or something like that to buy some more tools, Not sure where you are located, But I have some juniper cedar we call it picture cedar that I think would make a very nice stock. I want to give it try, laminate the white with the red heart wood then shape it.
This is a table that I did with it

I wouldn't mind trying to make myself a bull pup stock, but don't think I could pull off the trigger linkage needed. Anyone know of anyone that sells an after market bull pup trigger linkage kit?
I thought I could thin the forearm down a little and remove the ambi cheek piece as well as maybe drill a few holes under the recoil pad to remove extra wood. I'm sure that would cut a few ounces off the over all weight.
I suppose I could also go with a smaller compact scope as well.

Buy a used airsoft steyr Aug bullpup stock as it comes with a the trigger link mechanism. They sell them for $30-$35. Less sometimes.

Or, if you prefer, you can buy a trigger linkage arm for a bullpup unlimited kit for the mossberg 500. They sell for $18 but you have to find your own trigger.
