Hatsan's NEW Springer "the MOD 65" (Full Review)

Random lame thought but if you're doing a full review, you should have used the included scope and not a Hawke Airmax. Sort of skews your review a bit by not using it and showing potential buyers the Optima scope they're going to get with it.
Owned more than a few Hatsan air rifles and, while I hope they've made improvements to their included scopes, past Optima 3-9x32 scopes had a very bad habit of failing in a tin of pellets or less.

Have owned many Hatsan rifles in the past, they make a very affordable gun with plenty of power. If your mainly a hunter and new to air rifles, this is a decent rifle. Steve is right, the Hatsan scope is less than Optima and really's a piece of junk  .

After tuning about 15 Hatsan's have made the leap to Weihrauch rifles and never looked back. For new air gunners on the cheap - this is a good starter gun that I would recommend be de-tuned a bit or best shooting cycle.

Good video. Nice looking gun. Priced right . That one reviewed sure appears to be accurate. My concern with this new model would be the strength of the stock. Hatsan put a extra large cutout for the thumbhole and being Walnut it looks like a vulnerable weak spot to me. Sure wouldn’t want to drop or set it down very hard. Thank you.

I thought the same thing. But there is no way I could hit the bullseye with that Optima scope. So I had to choose to either show the true accuracy with the Hawke or shoot it like crap with the Optima. I don't imagine that scope would last long anyway. How can a $30 scope hold up to a springer? I hear they come apart pretty fast.

Also, I lost my camera equipment half way through this video...it was a rough week. It had to be done by Friday...so I didn't have alot to work with. And I was so ticked off, I couldn't shoot straight for 3-4 days.

The next video will be perfect...LOL. Thanks for watching guys! and for the comments/suggestions.

ALSO: It's rare that I can revisit these threads after I post them. So I apologize if I don't answer questions on some weeks. Cranking out 1 video a week like clockwork is actually exhausting. The general rule is I'm not supposed to touch computers or guns on the weekend...to avoid Youtube burnout. If I don't answer a question or comment, it's nothing personal, it just means I didn't see it. or in the case of comments on YT, I just can't answer all the comments anymore, because there are 750,000 views a month now. Comments on new YT videos will usually get responses for the first 2-4 days of the video, as I need to "push" it.

OK. Happy shooting! -Nate

I heard a lot of mixed reviews on the hatsan guns, so to be sure, I bought three (22,25 and .30). Not a bad gun once you loctite everything down and throw the scope away that came with it but the scope did work, I don't know for how long and probably won't find out. They seem to be descent accuracy wise for the amount of power they have but just a beast of a gun. Not much fun for target shooting unless you have a good friend cocking it everytime.

Thanks for the "review". Them Hatsan triggers still 5-6 lbs without voiding the warranty with a longer screw?
Doubt Hatsan has changed anything, so very likely them Quattro triggers are still 5-6 pounds. Only "new" trigger I've seen is on the AirTact's and they went from the Gamo clones to an actual adjustable trigger. Have 2 of them but haven't tinkered with them.
The Mod 65 is also a gas rammed gun, not spring powered so while some tuning tricks can be done, it's still a gas ram. Safety looks the same as the ones on the 87QE with a new styled end cap. That barrel looks to be just like the ones on my AirTact's and if it is, it basically a rifled tube that's flanged at the breech end to hold the breech seal and threaded at the muzzle end for the nut that holds it tight inside that shroud. I have pics from the refurb I bought and stripped to tinker with if you want to see them.

Understandable but 2nd random lame thought: Flat out say that in a video. Believe it or not, lots of viewers actually like when the guy doing them is honest, says something is junk and why, in your case, you swapped that junk scope for a better one. The Optima? It's just to make new buyers think they got a good deal because they got one with the rifle...lol. I did try one of the something like 14-15 I got with rifles. That one? Lasted less than a tin of pellets before the reticle was spinning inside the tube.

I can't say it's junk because I got paid to make the review. Sorry. I know that sucks, but all other channels are shadow banned at the moment, so I'm all you got. What viewers like does not figure into the equation. I know that sounds messed up. But no one can hang on Youtube and make airgun videos for long, without direct support from someone. If I made videos about cats or science, I would be getting about $18,000 per video. But it's not about the money, or I would have bailed a long time ago.

What matters with airgun videos at the moment is views only. Views tranlsates into companies willing to pay you, which is the only way to keep going. If you want to build a channel on the blood of the innocent. Just start killing animals and you will go straight to the top... but that's not me.

...TMI... I'm enjoying my channel more than ever now because I can actually slow down and make non-rushed videos, thanks to the airgun industry finally putting down some cash.

Sad but ture. It is what it is. My videos are real. I always shoot my best and I always do it on the first take...so that's what you can count on. And I'll be there each week. See you on the next one!

You start by saying you got paid so you can't say it's junk, then end saying it's not about the money, so money is at least a part of it and getting to play with a new to market air rifle is a nice bonus...lol.
You also don't have to use the word junk either. Simply say while the included scope is usable, you'd highly recommend potential buyers consider buying a better quality air gun rated scope to take full advantage of the accuracy of the rifle like you did by putting one on it, then pitch PA for that better scope along with the rifle.
Makes you look better that you were honest about it and PA gets a possible multi item purchaser because they bought that better scope and PA makes more money.
