Have you found that “ One Airgun”?

I don't think I could nail down one, as I use mine for work. Small feral bird control indoors and rabbits. Mk2 Impact and Crown battle for small game, but an old Air Arms S200 is my go to for small birds. @ 11 fpe it spits 7.4 grn pellets along a laser beam, and I love the shape of it.

Yep...Since '19, Taipan Veteran standard .22. If you never owned one I would put a type 1 Vet at the top of your "to try" list. The trigger and build quility are stellar. I've tried a bunch of different brands...spared no expense...Taipan Veteran is my gun/brand...Look at

my past posts or ask my friends...I know better than to say they are indestructible but I'm still waiting for a problem with my three...and I shoot 'em, a lot.
Note ten shot group off bench at 55 yards with the black laminate example, fliers to the left was slight wind.

This is a tough one for me but I’d have to narrow it to two, based on the shooting season / time of year. April through November my passion is N50 Benchrest shooting with my Thomas HPX. Cold weather it would come down to shooting indoors and my current choice is a Taipan Veteran Standard .22. But then their is pigeon hunting and my Vixen gets first dibs there and squirrel hunting the Prophet Compact is king in that department but the Vet could easily fill in those two spots quite easily so I will stick with my first two choices.

Search the forum for this same question being asked quite a few times before. There are pages of answers/suggestions. It's so subjective too. What checks MY "one gun" box might not check YOURS. If I HAD to pick one it would be one of these (FX Bobcat .22, Royale 500 .25, Boss .30 front to back) The ONE would probably be the Royale. View attachment 529840
All very nice. But for me. Of these three. On looks alone would be the top one. Or farthest one away. The Bobcat?

I like my wildcat .22 a lot. It ticks all the boxes for me. Its short 30.75" with the donny fatboy, light under 7lbs, powerful (31 FT/LBS), Good shot count the way I have it set up (54 shots on a 225bar fill), shoulders nice, accurate, has the ability to swap calibers, can be tuned to shoot a multitude of projectiles and if necessary, can be hand pumped without too much work and... It's a looker in my view.

.22 Brocock Bantam Hi-Lite. Light, handy, comfortable, good power, Slingshot hammer/valve firing system, phenomenal accuracy, punches way above its weight and price.

From my testing notes after tuning to higher power-
18.1 grain FX, 240 BAR fill, 40 shot powerband- Low= 877, High= 892, ES= 15, SD= 2, Average= 887FPS / 31.7 FPE

"We don' need no stink-ing regulators!"

I do a variety of things that involve shooting, all of them legal 😇. Different guns for different needs but if I had to pick just one for everyday carry it would be a break barrel, in my case a Trail. Not all that sexy but requires minimal support equipment, just a few tools, lubricant and ammo. No pumps, bottles, co2 cartridge, I can just grab it and use when needed without hoping it’s got plenty of air. I’ve always been like this, I keep a simple powder burner in the truck and other guns for different uses. My competition guns don’t go hunting and I don’t try and hit a target 1000 yards away with a 30/30. If I had to have just one it would highly practical but very boring.
