Hawke optics apology by me

I had stated on a post here that, I thought, Hawke Vantage scopes were not rated for spring piston guns. A couple member responded that they are rated for 12 foot pound and under springers. I reached out to Hawke on Saturday and got a reply this morning. They stated that all of their scopes are rated for spring piston guns. No mention of any restrictions. I apologize for assuming something before checking. Don

I checked and my two Hawke Vantage scopes came with spec sheets that stated that they are indeed springer rated with no foot-pound limit.

I have assumed that Element Optics, scopes are springer rated, because I plan on putting one on my K97.
I did notice that it has the same warrantee statement as my Athlon.
yes but Athlon is in Kansas city MO. so a few days turn around . AND i think Athlon is a better scope all around

Yeah, but I would only use them on guns like HW30S, HW50s and HW35E, I think the HW95, HW80 or any Diana is too much - your asking for it to fail even though Hawke will warranty it.
The Hawke 3x9x40 and 4x12x40 are very good, light and inexpensive scopes.

I've got a Hawke Vantage 4x AO on my Diana 48. Well past 2000 rounds with no problems.

I shoot 500 a week so 2000 is a drop in the bucket on long term reliability

Well average a tin of cphp ( 500 count) at least every 10 days. Then some on a strong gas ram Gamo jackhammering it too boot. 2000 ain't much to praise one .

Well, what can I say. I shoot the amount I shoot, the scope is springer rated, and it hasn't broken on a rifle that's known for breaking scopes.

Did not mean to sound like I was dis'ing you... sorry if it did.

Just pointing out for me shot count on springer Long term reliability . Heck I got gamo package scopes that well exceed 2000 shots ... well exceed.

It really don't matter if it busts in 1 shot or 100,000. 1 hour or 10 years. It's busted..

That's where that no ? Asked lifetime shines..

I have 2 Athlon helos 4-20x50, one on a RAW HM1000 and one on a Tony Leach TX200 MK1, that l use for hunter field target. They are as good as most and better than some. Great glass, turrets are very reliable. Ranging is good but like most, past 40 yards, ranging is tough. I had an argos 6-24x50 but sent it back. The eye relief was way to critical for me. Don

I see your point but Hawke says they are good to go on any gun, including spring piston gun. I would put any of their scopes on any springer now due to Hawkes okie doky. My 3-9 Airmax was 279.00. Not an expensive scope but, to me, not inexpensive. My wife seemed to think it was VERY expensive though :ROFLMAO:. Don

Yeah Don, I was thinking of the Vantage line $75 to $125 (Dvor), yes they're Springer rated, but .......
Not sure a 3-9 Airmax is worth $279 either, but better suited for heavier recoil.

Not trying to put You or Hawke scopes down, but the Vantage line is a Best Value scope ( for smaller/med) Springers, where as the Airmax maybe worth it for $279. FWIW, I've never owned an Airmax  .

I've always oped for the (side focus/glass etched) UTG 4-16x44 (30mm) tube in lieu of the Airmax. The lens glass maybe better on the Airmax though?

As a side note:
Hawke and UTG scopes have changed so much over the last couple years, my older versions really can't be compared to what's currently being offered.
The prices I paid are significantly lower than today's market ..... maybe the scopes are better now ..........

I have a 6-24x50 Airmax on my HW97 with a 12 ft lb kit. I had a 4-12 Vantage on a S200 a few years ago. I have no complaints with the Airmax. The Vantage was a nice clear scope and worked great. I just felt better buying the Airmax for the HW50. If the Airmax fails, it is a airgun scope according to Hawke so they should have no problem with warranty. I also have a UTG 3-12 swat etched glass reticle scope on a pcp. Good scope. I was looking at a UTG 4-16 etched glass reticle scope but it was 244.00 so l went with Hawke for the easy warranty. Don
