I have two Hawke Vantage 3 x 9 x 40 A/O Mil-Dot Reticle SFP #14123 brand-new in the box from Hawke. I had two identical models that I returned to Hawke under warranty, and they gave me two brand-new scopes the other day. A picture of the Hawke inspection reports, and shipping box is attached. The Hawke resolution of the problem is near the bottom of the report, indicating they chose to replace the unit with a new unit. I will never use them because I have since traded up to Hawke Airmax.
Update: I sold one, still have one new one. I also have one that is like new with a couple hundred shots through it. Make me an offer.
