Head shot thread

This is year is so much better and worse than last year for this time around. At least in terms of iguana population, great for us cause we get steady work. But it's insane how many as a whole we're still getting.
Sooner or later the population will be greatly reduced. When I was a kid we used our pump master 760s to shoot lovebirds, monk parakeets, and budgies... In New Port Richey. I don't think I've seen more than 1 in the last 10 years visiting

I wonder when that sooner or later will be. I've been hunting these guys for the last 5 years, and there's just so much uncharted territory that does not get touched. Along with the amount of canals/waterways that we have it's like we barely make a dent. I've taken over 4,000 iguanas just this year, which put's me around the 20k mark in the last 5 years. I know there's a lot of us out there, but not everyone gets contracts like that.

South Florida is just fertile fertile with favorable conditions for reptiles. You have the perfect environment. For your sake and the sake of shooters, I hope it never dries up. I wish the monk parakeets would explode nation wide.

Thanks same here lol. I've actually taken those out as well, they make COLOSSAL nests on FPL power stations. Like 6 feet wide!

Dispute the numerous thousands of birds I've killed followed by laughter, I like parrots... I've had the same screeching asshole for 13yrs now. Did you know a cockatoo can scream at 130dB? I know.
I believe it, my aunt had one. I used to always play dance with him as a kid until the focker stabbed me in the back, literally 😒 waited till I turned away flew right at me and dug his claws into my back.

That's bad. The bite is excruciating. It's happened once. He HATED my ex because it took his attention, they are cogent enough to recognize social behaviors.. I was sitting wit her and not scratching his head despite multiple attempts to walk up and bowing his head.. he was quiet...then I felt the jaws of life crushing the top of my shoulder... Standing on the couch latched on. And you can't hit a 6,000 $ bird... You know how fragile they are. I had to wait for him to let go. Luckily he's an almond junkie. He left a bruise the size of a softball

Kid me would have grabbed that bird and flung him across the room or thrown him against the ground. My aunt's bird was lucky because it was latched to the middle of my back, so I couldn't reach him. I like birds but not as pets.

It gets insanely trying sometimes. Probably shouldn't, but I'd feel insanely guilty giving him up. My uncle left him to me and he had him for the last 30 years of his life. It would make things much easier on me, there's only one other person who he doesn't hate so I'm limited on how long I can leave and when.. I can't risk taking it with me and getting a hotel... The aforementioned propensity for high dB noises at first light. Chewing.... Etc

I hear ya, there are pet hotels where you can leave your pets while you go on vacation.
