A .22 to the dome out of the BRK Sniper XR gave him a very bloody nose.

Bagged a very nice male hybrid grey/fox squirrel this morning. Clipped just the top of it's head with a baracuda hunter 22, courtesy of my new to me evanix ar6k!

Loving this gun already.

Look at the reddish brown tail. Definitely got mixed up with a fox squirrel somewhere in its bloodline.

Since it was a complete pass thru, I figured I'd toss it to Loki, my Dumeril's boa.

We have a snake too but I hesitate to give him kill because there may be lead fragments. I know....overprotective snake dad. But I feel very responsible for animals in my care - their well being depends on me.

There was one time I decided to try the H&N Hornets in my TalonP on a grey, headshot within 20yds. To my surprise the end result was way more bloody compared to any other .25 pellet ive used so far. Woudlve thought there'd be less blood due to the increased penetration of the pellet shape but guess the opposite 😅
Sorry to be that guy, but blood loss is all about shot location and gravity. Pellet shape has nothing to do with it. Headshots, where the head ends up the closest to the ground or their nerves fire and the legs grip their perch always end up as geysers.

I had one dove I shot on a branch against my fence, dead on middle of the breast... 23yards, around 880 with 33.95gr... the fence looked like a red pollock painting.

I think what you said is maybe half true at most. Pellet shape (e.g., hunting pellets) can leave much larger wound channels and the expansion would make it more likely to hit major arteries/veins. My years of observation indicate to me that hunting pellets do tend to produce more blood compared to typical dome pellets. The H&N Hornets that were mentioned are expanding pellets despite the pointy tip.
