Head shot thread

I didn’t know this was a head shot until I recovered the corpse this morning. My pard was at 2% battery so I had to shoot quick, it already auto shutoff once. I may have clipped the second.

25cal P35 at 18 yards, overkill but that’s what my PARD is on

Great shot and video! There were 2 there and you almost got a two'fer! Excellent lobotomy skills! That rats insomnia is no more an issue....😂👍

are they food worthy ? or not worth the effort to clean ? Answered in an above post .
They are the best eating “goose” there is to most of the guys I know that take them, me included. (Taxonomically they sit between goose and duck) I personally have not plucked one but use the breast for smoking (has a roast-beef quality to it) and save the legs to make rilette, a meat spread for sandwiches, delicious with sweet onion jam 😅 compared to canada goose or malard duck I defenitly prefer egyptian.

I had it as stewed beef and it was great!

Did you stew the entire bird or just legs, just breast,…? I have to try that, put it in a pie. Would be a lot easier getting the metal shot out as well with a strong magnet once the meat has stewed down! (many of the birds we take have steel shot in them from botched attempts of other hunters to take them, chowing down on lead shot is not too bad but steel is not a good day😅)

I take them out with air rifles, and I only take headshots, so I don't have to worry about any of that lol. But i've only ever carved out the breast. Skinning them is oddly difficult for some reason.

Man o man, this was an interesting and fun iguana removal spot today. Got 9 iguanas and 1 agama. All headshots, got 1 from the 4 from a palm tree and 5 on top of both the main house and guest house. Shot 1 iguana from about 60% of the way on the ladder, wielding the U2 C .22 on my left hand, shooting with my right hand, shot another while sitting at the top of the guest house. There was a lot of up and down today lol.

I wasn't expecting an eyelid shot on that one from the ladder. I somehow get a perfect shot on the ladder but needed 2 shots when I was sitting down on the guest house 🤦‍♂️
