N/A Head Shot

That is an excellent shot @ 50 with your HW97k! Great pic.

It was windy. An inch one way or the other. Miserable shooting weather past 25 yards.

It calmed down to nothing and suddenly I was hitting them in the body almost every shot. I got so happy I told my buddy I was going for a head shot. Hit that rascal right in the eye!

Missed the next 15 shots trying to do it again....

Hey man. No guts no glory.

I got "on" over 15-20 shots and I knew exactly where they were landing. Things were perfect and I was in the groove.

I made one fantastic shot and my head got fat. I walked out and got the mortarman and talked loud about the hit. I kicked dirt in the air. By the time I got back to the gun the magic was gone. I shoulda kept on plinkin' and I might have got two.

Pellets and wind don't mix well but some flags will help and make shooting in the wind both fun and more productive.

Wind.

We had 4 days of zero visibility. 50mph winds with huge gusts. Big ol' haboobs day after day. A couple nice days (under 20mph) and then another 4 days. You needed a shovel to breathe. Unbelievable dust storms before a 48 hour break.

Then it did it again. Blowing trucks over on the highway. Power lines down. Dirt in your teeth and in your food. You can't see a vehicle on the road 40 yards in front of you.

Days and days of it. Like nobody has ever seen.

Hollywood special effects kind of dust storms. Winds 60mph with gusts in the passes 110mph. Tree bark on the west side of the trees are scoured clean. My new tattoo blew off.

I appreciate your comment on some wind flags. It is an astute observation and some very good advice. I got a laugh out of it in light of the situation.

Spring in New Mexico a wind flag is a tow chain. I'll hang a couple out down range when I can see 50 yards through the dust.
