Heathways plainsmaster 9405

Today I shoot the Heathways plainsmaster 9405, a unusual BB pistol. A fun gun to shoot on a cold day indoors.

The Plainsmaster 9405 is a Plainsman with an extended 9.4” barrel, a plastic grip and fore-end in imitation walnut grain and a removable metal foregrip. Other than these changes the 9405 is mechanically identical to the Model 175 and was designed to shoot proprietary Healthways .177” nickel coated steel BBs , however it will also shoot modern zinc or copper coated steel BBs. The BB reservoir holds up to 100 BBs it takes a standard 12 gram co2 cartridge. And has a spacer to accept a 8 gram cartridge that the early two variants of the Plainsman 175 used.

Professor,
Thanks for another cold weather indoor shoot, got a real kick out of that 9405 and the front grip! Unboxing videos are fascinating to watch, just like when the original owner first opened it. Lots of great closeups are very appreciated as well as operational instructions. Can't improve much on accuracy, wonder how it would do farther out? Thanks again for all your efforts, WM

Right up there in the accuracy department. Along with a Daisy 1200 , Crosman 1600 or 454. Heathways made good products. All there bb guns are accurate and have some power "for a bb gun". Marksman bought Heathways and then it changed hands.
I'm not sure if Marksman, Arkansas-based Daisy Manufacturing Co. owns the rights to the Heathways line but if they do. They should make all of them again.
