Heavy slugs FX Maverick

I have no experience with that weight of slug out of my now gone Maverick, 38.5 was the heaviest I did. The only problem I see is the stock magazine not handling the slug length. Call Nick @ NSA and ask him.

Would be helpful if you had the 700mm barrel. Cannot say that I have heard of anyone shooting a slug that heavy out of any PCP.

You will almost certainly need the faster twist heavy liner, and I dont think you would be happy with the speeds. There is a small BC advantage, but due to the slower starting speed I dont think I would bother in a Maverick (at least as stock). You would have better performance with the 34.9 or 38.5 grain. You can push them faster easier and the result will be flatter trajectory and more speed at the target. As mentioned those wont fit in any magazines, not even the STUD mags. I think the real heavy slugs are better suited for something like an AirForce or Vulcan 3 or maybe a Panthera.

Not a good idea for many reasons mentioned above. One more: The longer the slug, the more friction. Going from 23g to 30g in a 22 incurs >10% loss of FPE from increased friction.

Seems like you're pushing beyond the boundaries of the gun. If you're needing more weight for FPE then I suggest getting the caliber change kit and moving up to 30 cal. I shoot the 49.5 gr Neilson Specialty Ammo and love them. The 30 cal is fatter but shorter. The gun handles very well

Also, I might mention I'm shooting the 700mm superior heavy with slug power kit installed stay in the 940-960 FPS range for best accuracy
