Tuning Hello

Been shooting powder burners for years but am new to the air rifle niche. I bought a new Hatsan Neutron star because of the reviews both written and video. Everyone says this thing is a slug lover.

I can’t get mine to hit a pie plate at 25 yards 2 times in a row, and with regular pellets it luck to be under 2 inches at 25 yards. I am sure it needs to be adjusted but can find no schematics and ninstrutiin in where to start and what to look for. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Before this thing gets tossed in the yard lol

lol, sounds like a hatsan to me .. my best hatsan story is a similar situation, about 9" accuracy at 20y .. got the gun direct from hatsan and 'larry' made sure to include a checklist of all the things he went over and signed off on it .... so i start checking it out and (not kidding) the gun had NO RIFLING in the barrel, it was a smooth bore factory defect .. larry missed that haha ... so yeah .. id give it a quick look just to see ..

I don’t know how they miss things like that. I once bought a 17 HMR that there was no rifling in it. It did have what look like a polished spiral going through the barrel but that was it. There was nothing actually cut into the barrel. The bullets were actually tumbling and you could see it on the target. Some of the holes you could tell the bullet hit it sideways. I sent the gun and target back and they sent me the gun back with a new barrel and everything was good after that. Just thought I would mention this because You are the only one I ever heard that also had that same thing happen.

I went up to the rifle range last year and a guy had a brand new AR-15, it wouldn't load properly, the cartridge only went half way into the breech, turned out the barrel was not machined for the cartridge, I told the Guy to take it back to the guy who built it.....

I would check the baffles in the Neutron star to make sure it is not clipping, also barrel end to make sure it is crowned properly, as for slugs, it may not like them, the choke may be to tight for them, also make sure the breech O-ring is good.

good luck
