Yes...You can try that
Someone earlier suggested a couple of pellets...
Even a tight fitting Jag with well oil patch could work..
You just need to slow the flow out of the barrel enough to allow the pressure build up!!

Maybe your valve seat needs burnished.

If it's a regulated gun you may want to avoid shooting it when it's below regulator pressure in order to prevent this from happening again.

Otherwise still suspect valve seat isn't closing and needs attention

Loosen your neck up, stretch your shoulders … doo some windmills stretch the quads and then attack that pump -with- good technique and pump fast as you can. After 10-15 pumps stop as it worked or research more/different advice. Worked once for me.
Good luck, keep positive think this can happen with any airgun.
Chasing a leak when these things dont hold air is frustrating and they become expensive paperweights but when all good are exceptional and worth it.

Try to find a squba store. Bring your probe and they might help you.

Don't waste your time, find a neighbor, a shooting range, an airgun store, where they can give you a blow of air with a scuba and close your valve

Try dropping all your weight, fast on the first pump.! Might get the valve to close.

Mac 1 airguns is in Signal Hill, not too far from Long Beach. (Assuming you're in long beach, CA) You can probably get them to give you a blast of HP air to get the valve closed for the 1st time. If you find yourself down near San Diego I'd be happy to help.

I Handpump PCPs from empty all the time, as long as you have the gun cocked it's no problem,

I would try dry fire a couple of times just in case something happens but the gun should fill easily otherwise something is wrong with the gun,.......again buying from Troy Hammer would have made sure the gun came to you at 100%

Had a thought. If you know your pump can build pressure, find a way to put a 1/8" shutoff valve inline (see link), close it, build pressure in pump, then open valve quickly for enough pressure "kick" to slam valve shut. Just a thought.

did you at least 'try' loading 2 pellets in the breech ..let me answer, no, no you didnt lol .. maybe skeets ya some silicone oil in the tp hole while your at it ..

airgunman told you a way to plug the barrel - put in a couple pellets. You could try one. I wouldn't put in more than two unless you have a cleaning rod to press them back out.
