My New CS4i From GX Pump is making a metallic clicking or tapping noise under load. Sounds almost like a galloping horse. Any one else notice this noise? Is it normal?
Side clearance on the rod big or small end? Is that something that a shim may quiet down? It's the side clearance and not the bearing, at least on mine. I got curious and checked it out.
Crank end. I thought about some thrust washers, but left it as it. Has about 1/8" of side clearance.Side clearance on the rod big or small end? Is that something that a shim may quiet down?
That it! You hit the nail right on the head.My unit is the JTS model that is equal to the GX CS3.......Mine sounds like a galloping horse and Cinderella clicking her heals over and over.![]()
Out of the box about 4 hours on it now.Is this the first time using it out of the box?
Edit: I did a fast search and found this poster on another forum post this as he was concerned as well...
"It isn't that noisy, but it whizzes like a star wars fazer slowed down. It also has a rhythmic thud, and a metalic clanking sound.
I was expecting it to purr like a kitten. It really doesn't sound very refined to me."
Does the quote above sound about right?
