Help me choose the right rifle

Thank you to anyone who is giving me the time here with quality answers. I have had low end pellet and BB rifles for 40 years. My last gun that I purchased was 10 years ago and it was a Gammo 177 Single shot break barrel gun. I don’t mind this gun but I would like some thing possibly a little quieter one that Is possibly a little bit more powerful and accurate. I would like to move on to a BCP rifle now. I would like to move up to a 22/25 caliber as well. I have done some research and I am interested in the Umarex origin 25. I do have access to a scuba tank. The things that are important to me are: A dependable accurate gun that has few breakdowns, powerful enough to use for small game, and very quiet because I will be shooting a lot in my backyard as far as practicing and enjoying this with my kids.
Please direct me in the right way, I am looking to have this gun for a long time I am only an occasional user but want something that’s quality when I choose to use it.

I think deciding on a budget that would include how you plan to fill might be a good place to start. Purchasing a higher end PCP can be a big financial commitment and everyone's idea of high end tends to be different. Plenty of simple, reliable and affordable options on the market that will most likely outperform that Gamo you have. When you say you want something to last I tend to think of guns with least amount of plastic components...this should eliminate a few from the list. As mentioned the Daystate Huntsman would be on the higher end of quality and something you could pass down once you are gone. Plenty of used guns on the market so deals can be found.

Give a good look at the Airacuda Standard ( should be up for sale very sortly )

great value for the money at just over 300 bucks with a 5 point power adjuster to fit your need for backyard plinking and hunting, get an Amazon 50 bucks pump and get started for under 400 bucks......and if you eventually do not like the PCP route you will easily get most of your money back

Yes I am mistaken here. My scuba tank would not hold the pressure that I would need. After looking at this post earlier and I didn’t know they were different tanks. I don’t have to tank in front of me right now but you guys are probably correct it will not pressurize the way I need it to. I am not against having a hand pump either that is one reason why I went to the Umarex 22 because they sell it as a package for under $400. Although I would prefer the 25 caliber.

Good evening. After doing a little bit of research and thankfully for all your replies I believe I would like to lean towards a .25. For the only reasons of longer distance shooting and more knocking down power. My concerns are if it’s much louder than a 22 then I will stick with a 22. If you think that a 25 passes that test what should I zero in on for a particular gun? And obviously dependability is more of a priority than my previous wants.

When I started looking at the same issue I found the Benjamin Maximus. I got the hand pump and mine is a .22. It has a synthetic stock and isn’t particularly heavy so the kids will be able to handle it. It shoots very well and looks like it will last for a long time. I’m glad I have it and the cost was about $300 so it isn’t a budget buster. You and your kids can learn a lot, have fun and move up to higher priced guns when you know what you want.

Ready to purchase this Benjamin Marauger 25 synthetic generation 2. This combo deal for $699. It includes a 4-16x40AO scope. Would you recommend this or just buying the gun by itself for 569.99 and purchasing a scope separately. I know very little about scopes but I do want one that fits this gun and it’s needs properly. Thank you for your suggestions.
