FX Help me decide

Needing some of your expertise. I am buying a new Airgun this month and it will be my first competition type Airgun. Im looking for a little advice, I will be shooting our local bench rest competitions at 25/50/75/100. For 25/50 its pellets only, 75/100 you can shoot slugs. I can’t afford 2 guns lol so I got to make do with one! I’m thinking the Panthera or the Impact M4 in 600. Which ever I get I plan on changing the liner to the pellet liner if necessary. Any help is greatly appreciated

If you’re hell bent on a FX I would skip both of your choices and get a King.
I’m pretty set on FX but open to suggestions. King was on my first lest but moved to the Panthera as from my resea they are essentially the same. I like the Panthera because of the rail and ability to add a second bottle. What would you suggest?

I just went off your intended use and goals. If you are going to be at a bench competing there is no need to have all kinds off bottles hanging off your gun. You also should have no concerns about how modular your gun is because once you choose a caliber and dial it in, you must live it to compete. Also the more modular a gun is the more weaknesses it has. You also want dead stable weight and comfort. We all would be nice and cozy with the Kings stock. We have to convince ourselves that our metal skeleton Buck Rodger guns are comfortable. And we do. You also have a decision to make about caliber. If you go with a .30, you need to consider how you are going to hang a bunch of weight on whatever gun you choose. Unless you get something like a Red Panda that’s already a bench rest porker. Good luck. And mentally prepare yourself for whatever gun you get not living up to your expectations. It happens to most of us. But you are wiser on the next decision.

IMO, there’s no one gun that will be successful in all of those scenarios, at least no without buying extra barrels and accessories. My suggestion is a RAW BM500 for 25/50 yd competition in .177 cal. For 75/100, that’s open to many options. FX Impact, Red Panda, Skout, RAW HM1000x, FX Panthera or King (same platform), Ghost, you name it in .30 cal,. There is no one tool does it all and does it well. Regardless of what you choose, it’s up to you to make it work. Check out the BR match results and see what the top shooters are using.
