Help me decide...

I'm completely torn between three different high power .22 rifles. Seems like the wind is always blowing, and I'd like something to run Monsters or even slugs at a meaningful velocity. It'd probably be used more for punching paper than anything, but I do a fair amount of pesting, and a lot of squirrel hunting( the tree type, not the ground dwellers..). I'm considering either the RAW HM1000x chassis rifle, the Daystate Wolverine R HP, or the Brocock Sniper XR Magnum (if it ever becomes available).

I think I'd be pretty set on the RAW, other than the fact that it's a bit loud, with no way to add any more moderation. I don't need absolute quiet, seeing how I can shoot 300 win mag in my back yard, but silence is nice when a bunch of starlings are around, or a handful of squirrels.

The Wolverine is a beautiful rifle, and I've been super impressed with my Regal XL.

The Sniper XR just looks to be a good rifle all around, and the power adjuster could come in handy. The new side lever looks to be pretty slick, and the shot count looks decent for a gun in that power range.

Have any of you guys shot these guns enough to give me a little nudge in any direction. Thoughts on noise, weight, accuracy, smoothness of shot cycle?

I can’t help you with the other three. My two “premium” rifles are the RAW HM1000X walnut in .25 and the Daystate Red Wolf HP in .22. They are two completely different animals but I love them both in their own way.

I refer to the RAW as the Beast. It is solid as a rock, consistent as they come, simple in its design with virtually no maintenance required. It will shoot +/- 1.25” at 100 yards every outing with the POI never changing. I get about 50 shots before it comes off the regulator shooting at 56 ft lb of energy.

I shoot in a subdivision and find that the sound of the pellet hitting the target at 50 yards is louder than the report of the weapon itself.

One other thing I really like is that though the magazines are never an issue as I purchased mags that can be inserted from the right side allowing the use of a full size focus wheel on the left side, it can very easily be loaded single shot with no adapter needed.

Hope this helps.

I have a RAW a Red Wolf and recently sold a Brocock. All great rifles. If the RAW isn’t too heavy I’d pick that one. The Wolverine would be a real close second and a first if you think the RAW is just too heavy. The Brocock is a fine gun too but it’s a third place finish for me. Wouldn’t be anything wrong with at FX crown either.
FORD VS CHEVY debate.

I think a 30 caliber to buck the wind and shoot 44gr. Many JSB variants available. Only experience I can vouch for are the HM1000x. FX Boss. And FX Bobcat. All will do reasonably well at100 yards but I have to give the edge to the RAW. Your other option is to go with a slug friendly 25 caliber. You may be able to get by with a 25 Taipan Veteran but I haven't shot mine in high wind. YO!

At this point, I think the HM1000X is sounding like the one. All the feedback seems positive, and I think it'll do just what I'm looking for. I'm intrigued by the higher output .22's, and 50 ish ft/lbs definitely fits the bill.

A .30 of some sort is gonna be on my short list, likely an FX of some sort. I'm sure I'll be looking for opinions on different .30's when I come to that juncture.

Thank you guys for all the input. I'll post my thoughts on the RAW once I get it and put some lead down range.
