If you bought it from someone then it isn't new. That's the thing when buying used item. You never know what the other owners done with it. Maybe it was leaking that's why they sold it. If the burst disc goes, it is gonna be more than a leak. It will be like psssssshhh, like opening the valve and letting air out fast. The burst disc is a safety device that when the tank if overfill passed 4500, example 5000, then the burst disc ruptured to let pressure out so the tank doesn't explode. If it's only a small leak then it's not the burst disc. Check to see all connection are tight. If still leak then off valves and check o rings. Try using thread tape on the threads. I haven't have any issue with my acecare tank. I bought it new for $250 on eBay. Shipping was $60. So total I paid $310.
The leak is coming from the burst disc fitting and its a psssssssssh. While at the dive shop, i put on some teflon tape, tightened it back up and filled it with the same results. That is the only location on the valve that is losing air. Is there an oring that is supposed to be in there?
No, the burst disc does not have any o ring. Only the valve that screw into the tank have the o ring. If it's not leaking at the valve and it's only leaking where the burst disc is. Just replace the burst disc. eBay has them for $5-9 shipping from the USA. Just take off the old on and screw the new one in..you shouldn't need any thread tape on the burst disc. These are rated up to 5000psi. Here's a link on eBay. You get two 5000psi rated burst disc for under $5 free shipping. Save the extra one when you need it.
