Hello! I am new to the sport. Trying to choose a scope. My budget is 500 max. I will be putting it on a Bulldog Taurus 357. Going to use for deer and hog hunting. But would like to try target at 200 yards and beyond. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There were a couple of Athlon Ares BTR scopes in your price range in the classifieds...lifetime no fault warranty, great scopes too! Arken makes some excellent scopes also well under your price range.

Thank you! I have read good things about both of those. Have you, or anyone, had any experience with Blackhound optics? Also I am leaning towards FFP. What are your thoughts on that?

Take a look at the Sightron S-TAC series. I have both, and the Sightron is noticeable brighter than the Athlon. FFP is a preference for some, but most reticles get about useless at lower power settings, especially if woods hunting.
