HW/Weihrauch Help. P 1/ HW 45 ?

I bought a pretty good P 1 from AOA. I opened the top to look her over and spied a small spring lying between the compression tube and the frame. It was lying there loose and no indication from whence it came. The rear sight looks like it could be for upward pressure but it works fine. Up- down, side to side there is pressure. It is smaller diameter than an ink pen spring and about one third the length. All seems to be in order and shoots nice. Cocking is smooth with both settings being obvious. Safety works. ? ¿ ? Perhaps someone was working on it and lost the spring when it launched. Or the original owner wanted me to have a spare? Any Ideas from guys that have repaired a P 1? Be Well Brothers, B.

i thing you might find is the spring is not from the pistol
take a grip panel off there should be 2 spring visible

Another question on the same pistol. How to narrow down dates? Right now I see no indicators of a serial number. On the side: Beeman Precision Arms, Inc.
San Rafael Calif. 94903 U. S. A.
Made In West Germany
Other side: Beeman P 1, then the caliber and depiction of the recommended styles of pellet X 2. And Cal. 177”/4.5mm in the upper front left
Anyone able to narrow the period of production other than the San Rafael and West Germany? Thanks for your time and knowledge guys. It is hard earned in some cases. Bandito.

This is a small addendum to the spring conundrum. Shot that three times really fast. But this P 1 eats things when you open the top to cock the gun. I found a mangled pellet in the same general position as the earlier spring. I knew I had fumbled one but couldn't locate it until later. I was in a hurry to shoot several rounds, as many as possible. I still have that extra spring. Some day the origin may be found. Thanks for reading this silliness and Be Well Brothers, Bandito.

Sounds like this is the spring you are referring to:
