help very new to all this and im confused!

I’ve been looking for the same type setup. I was recommended the airforce Texan- lifetime warranty and no need to tinker with it frequently. I’m about to order one tomorrow and see how it goes. Definitely will want a compressor or a way (local fire dept?) to fill an scba tank though.
These guns come with a lifetime warranty?? That sounds really appealing. I would pay a little extra if it meant not having to worry about servicing it with my own money

Hogs .. I'm sure plenty . I don't know how many yards your thinking on taking something. I was just reading something on the jts aircuda .30 a few min ago ..

https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/precharged-pcp/jts-airacuda-max-.30-pcp/

In pcp there's so many at a wide pricing it's hard to choose..lol.

Just read up and see end-user here in forums on things and buy , try , and hope it don't make you cry .. ( thats anything anymore today 🥴)

The jets are known to have issues more than not it seems. Many will suggest an umarex notos and hand pump. It'll get you shooting for $300ish with a cheap hand pump.

Scope for around $100 for what it needs, or you probably have a rimfire scope you could use. Just make sure you get an adjustable objective or side focus since most of your shooting will be well within the 100 yard parallax most fixed scopes have.

If you want to go up from 22, then 25 is still cheaper than 30+. Guns or ammo are usually cheaper. I'd look hard at the new stoeger scout or ranger. Those are putting out great power and shot count for around $300.
I think I am going to settle on a pistol type plinker until I get my funds up for the t9 or m50. Does the notos have a pistol version? I feel like I’ve seen something like that online. I want something compact like a pistol .22-.25

Notos comes with pistol grips, but it looks kinds goofy IMO because the moderator is fixed. The cocking lever is also on the right side on the pp750. I also think the 750 looks a little nicer.

The PP750 is the same gun, just the parent company Snowpeak model and it comes as just a pistol.

Moved off hog killing guns ?

I was going to add this brand you can find on a sale or referb deal as well

https://www.pyramydair.com/product/seneca-recluse-dual-tank-air-rifle?m=2510

As for that plinking pistol that notos got a big following. So help , tips and all these forums look chocked full ..lol.

That notos has optional grips and sights for cheap 9-12 bucks from umarex I think the optional grips remove the stock " bulge" hook up thing..

Ya, starting out there's a lot of choice to confuse a guy . Opinions all over the place on what's best or not .

To be honest you read up on ones your interested in and choose .. it's a buy you try and hope it don't make you cry ..

Hot damn doctor befits you well! I feel like you know everything about this sport! Thanks doc I’m gonna take a look at those. It sucks there are so many guns I want lol. The things I liked about the jet was the fact it was in 25 cal, compact, and Ngl the look is a big part of what I like about it. But I also don’t want to have a bunch of issues with my first airgun as I am so new to this and don’t know how well I would tinker with all this stuff this early on. Thank you for your replies doc

Def haven’t moved off them a higher cal gun is def on the list but unfortunately can’t really afford to drop 1k on a gun/compressor at the moment. That’s why I want to settle on like a 25 cal plinker/pest killer. Figured I could stay around $500 for a gun and a handpump to satiate my air hunger for now lol. Thank you for your recommendations friend I will def take a look. Anything else u would recommend I’d be happy to take a look at!

No problem at all. I've been in the rabbit hole for a long time and have probably went through 30+ pcp guns by now, most I've built or customized the way I like. I tinker on everything. I'd hot rod my refrigerator if I could!

I appreciate the compliment, but there are many others on this board that make me look like an intern with the amount of knowledge and skill they have!

One more question I would have messaged you but for some reason it won’t let me pm anybody. I am looking at the notos and I see that it comes with a fixed silencer. Don’t I need a tax stamp for that? Or does it not apply to air guns?

Oh wow look at all the thorough responses! I just seen this now I didn’t think anybody would even answer lol. I actually didn’t realize that using a hand pump would be so difficult with the m50. I am thinking more about it now and honestly this seems like it would be a very expensive route for me rn to go with the m50 AND a compressor. I was really trying to keep this under $800 for everything. What do you guys think is the maximum psi of a gun that I can comfortably use a hand pump on? I may just wait it out on the m50 in the future when my funds are a little deeper.

What do you guys think about the Hatsan jet or the hatsan sortie for plinking and small game? Might try a high caliber pistol instead maybe it will be a bit more budget friendly. Thanks everyone
I wouldnt let a hand pump stop you from enjoying the world of PCP's.
A Yong Heng compressor can be purchased for $250, and will provide you with plenty of air.
Much better option than a hand pump, unless you dont have access to electricity.

The beauty with a hand pump, is you could refill, in the wilderness, with no electricity.
But trust me, pumping airguns up to 2200 psi, let alone 3625 psi, is ABSOLUTELY NO FUN!
I recommend that you skip the hand pump, if possible.
To keep you under your $1000 budget, Id recommend a very inexpensive Yong Heng compressor, as long as you have access to electricity.
At $240 for the compressor, you would have plenty of options for a airgun or two!

Hey brother is this a crappy compressor? My instincts are telling me yes cuz of the price but I figured I would ask here too thanks

I have no experience with that compressor, but as I recall, long-term reviews were not very favorable.
For $240, I would get a Yong Heng, as they have been around for many years, and are a decent, entry-level compresor for the money. To be honest, I would not recommend anything less expensive, than a Yong Heng.
For $420, you might consider a CS4 with the grease pot, although Ive never owned a CS4,, they get favorable reviews.
The CS4-I is a similar compressor, with a built in power supply, but it will cost more than the CS4.

What do you think about that macavity arms ma2 in 30 cal? It’s pretty affordable as well. Do you think that is a good enough caliber for hogs? The biggest reason I don’t want something in .22 is because I feel like it won’t generate enough power for what I’m trying to do. The notos looks nice but I just don’t know if it has the kind of stopping power I’m looking for
I have the MA2 in .30 cal. It does have a good punch to it (80fpe). There are many videos of guys taking hogs with .25, which on the average are around 40-50 fpe. The MA2 should be plenty. It is also very accurate. I have been hitting 1 inch targets at 75 yds pretty easily.
