Hello everyone. This is my first posting and I'm hoping someone might be able to help out. I purchased a lot of several air pistols, which included a Crosman American Classic 1377. This is the old version with the pull action and no actual bolt handle. The pistol is in very good shape but doesn't hold air. I purchased a reseal kit and i'm willing to strip this down and give it a shot. However, before I do, I have a question. The forearm just flops down and doesn't stay in place. Will new seals cure this or is there another problem that is causing this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks-JZ

You may first try to lube it with Alphabet org auto trans quick fix from your NAPA or Wal mart right where the piston goes in while the pump handle is fully open and try working it in by pumping and let sit for a day before tearing it apart.

I've read that. I may pick some up and give it a shot. There doesn't seem to be any pressure at all though, so we'll what happens. I don't have the reseal kit yet, so i guess anything is worth a try.

A lot of times it is the pump cup. It is a couple dollar part from Crosman. Like the other posters said, it may just need lubed too.

I just started playing with my 1377 that I’ve had for about 20 years. Not as old as yours.
That said you might as well replace all the seals in the whole gun. And there are a lot of other simple DIY upgrades you can do to the gun while you’ve got it apart.
I have given mine a simple trigger job. And am now waiting for the steel breach to show up.

Well, she's disassembled and awaiting new seals and pump cup. The one hiccup I did have is, that while driving out the roll pin that connects the forearm to the lower assembly, I lost the pin to the abyss of my work area. Hopefully it's something the chain hardware stores have in stock.

Supposedly, the seals and cup will be here prior to the weekend. Hopefully, I can get this all completed and get in a few rounds.

I’d replace that roll pin with something that’s much easier to remove. Makes it so much nicer to make repairs or mods in the future. I’ve replaced the roll pin on all my 13xx’s with the above clevis pin.

Where did you get that aftermarket barrel band / front site ? I’ve not been able to find one like that.

That's a smart idea. I did find a pin to replace the lost one but I like your option better. What size would I search for to get that pin and clip?

Everything is back together, sighted in, and shooting great. The forearm is being held in place temporarily. I ordered a replacement pin with hex screws which should look nicer than this setup. Thank you for all the help!
