Tuning Help with Huma reg in Airmax Krait x.

Just put in the Huma and it increases with bottle pressure. Got to 160bar on each and I stopped the compressor. The video shows the little white piece having a black mark for up reference , mine does not have that. It does have a crescent shaped cut out though. Can't see that it indexes, but maybe it does. I'm guessing the silver center threaded piece with flats is the adjuster and is turned fully clockwise. What am I missing? Thanks, Bill and Addi.

●●●UPDATE●●● Utah Airguns sent me a Mark l rifle, but a Mark 2 reg. Not sure of the difference between the mk l and mk2. I'll be getting ahold of them Wednesday. Smh.

The only difference between a first gen gun and a second gen is the pin size on the reg that protrudes out of the block behind the gauge. A gen 2 reg will not work in a gen one block because the pin is too big. It just plain old won’t fit. The adjustment range on a reg is very small. If you turned the adjustment a little too far in either direction, the reg won’t work. I will tell you that when I had my Krait, the reg or should I say regs were in and out of that gun 5,000 times as I tried to fix them. Once in a while I would experience what you experienced. I knew I had the reg set right but it was in the bypass mode as I filled the gun. Reg gauge just kept following the tank pressure as I filled the gun. I would stop at 160b or so and look at the gun like WTF. I would degass it, take out the reg, scratch my head then put it back in. Sometimes it would be fine when I refilled. If not, I would stop filling at 110b and turn the reg screw a little up, dry fire, then a little down and dry fire. Then it would be fine. Good luck with that gun. I wanted to love mine but at $1,700, it was unlovable. Way better stuff out there in that price range.

I know Huma gives you a drop in pin to fill the hole where the factory gauge sticks out behind the gauge. I have no clue how you got a gen two pin to go in a gen one block. It’s not possible.
I don't know anything about gage behind the gauge. Don't know anything about a pin. The gun is absolutely a MK1, the reg UA sent is MK2 as identified by receipt and part number. Another member has been messaging me about the same reg mix-up . So no its not IMPOSSIBLE to put a MK2 reg in a MK1 gun. It screws right in. It just won't work. Huma represents their reg as a direct swap, no pin no mods.

I had a MKl Huma to put in my MKl block. Huma had to make a MKll reg with a bigger pin for the guys with MKll blocks. If you have a MKl gun and a MKll reg, that pin did not seat into the block because it’s too big so you had to feel it when you hand tightened the reg. The reg should be able to be hand tightened all the way to the oring then just a bump with a wrench to snug it. Did you have to tighten it with a wrench a full turn or so? If you did, that was you crushing the reg into the bypass mode.

Hey vetmx, now I see what you're talking about. Good information. The air passage on the 2 is centered while the 1 is on the edge of the manometer hole. The reg went in by hand with less than a half turn to tighten with a wrench. Here's my block. Thanks for your time and effort in responding, much appreciated. As a side note, it seems dealers that say they can't tell the difference with out opening the gun are full of poop. Appears it's their cover to get rid of the MK1S for full price knowing most people want the MK2. Bill and Addi.

You have several things. You have a gen2 block on your gun. You have a gen 2 Huma in it. And you have a gun that of the 50 guns I’ve owned truly disappointed me. Good luck. There was a giant topic about this gun and I was part of it. You should have read it before you made the purchase. Who knows, that topic may have got canceled.

Send the gun back and buy anything else in the price range and live happily ever after. That’s the best advice I can give. The gun I replaced my Krait L with was only a couple hundred more and there is no comparison. It’s the same size, way more accurate, way less pellet picky, way more adjustable and has power to spare. Wanted to love that Krait. Slim, solid barrel mounting and nice mags, but it needs a redesign at the factory level. Or a price tag of about $900.

I'm not sure how I should have known to read the thread but whatever. Huma clearly shows the difference in the blocks is the location of the air passage for the manometer. On the picture of your 2 blocks, the one on the left is a MK2, the one on the right is a MK1. Is that correct? You sure seem to know this gun, but I am interested to know what you see that you say mine is a MK2 block. It seems it's about the pin, not the manometer air passage. And I would like to know which gun you bought. Besides that, HAPPY 4TH. Bill and Addi.

Thanks
Hopefully this will help you from being buffaloed by whoever sold you the gun. This is a true gen 1 block. I just took this pic. This is how big the pin hole is. A gen 2 block has a bigger hole. I gave my extra gen 2 block to someone who bought some of my other Krait stuff from me.

. Thanks. I see 👀 the manometer air passage is on the edge, MK1.
