Tuning Help with my .30 cal SK-19 from LCS

Hey guys. I just got this "un-tested" SK19 directly from LCS. They actually get the guns in and check them out and fine tune stuff before they go to dealers. They are in that stage right now on the .30....so this one didn't even get touched yet. They warned me I may need to tune it. 

My question: Is my back pressure guage supposed to read 250? I don't think it is. What is that guage for? If I turn my velocity adjuster in back will the dial go down? I'm not even going to fire the gun with, whatever that is, at the same pressure as my tank. I don't have alot of .30 pellets..and no money to buy more. 

Help me out, some of you guys who know how to work this gun. I seriously don't know this stuff. Thanks! -Nate @ Airgun Channel

Back gauge is the reg pressure gauge. Knob below it is not the reg adjuster it adjusts the size of the orifice in the transfer port or something like that.

The regulator adjustment is on the front just above the tank. I would take the tank off and loosen the rear gauge to purge the plenum pressure before trying to adjust the reg down so it does not get damaged. Although my guess is that the regulator has problems with o-rings or debris so it is creeping up. Adjusting it may clear it of problems but I would not count on it. The reg gauge should read around 140bar.

Nate, check on something for me, please. Actually, two things.

1. Look very close at the scope rail. If you flush out the front of the scope rail to the front of the block(where it slides onto the groove on top of the block), what does the rear of the scope rail look like, in how when it slopes down to meet with the top of the action. Does yours blend in perfect? Or in my case, if I wanted that slope to blend in perfect with the top of the gun at the rear, then now at the front the scope rail moves past being flush with the block? This will affect proper barrel placement if you have this situation and don’t pay attention to that.

2. Secondly, after depressurizing your gun and removing the bottle, does the front of the block tilt up and down or side to side loosely? If yours does that, and you don’t pay attention to it, when you recharge the gun after reinstalling the bottle, your regulator adjustment knob may end up pointed downward and colliding onto the top of the bottle, as one member just shared with me.

Being since you just got this 30 cal, let me know if you have the same items going on. I took ownership of one on May 1st, 2021. I bought it from a member who received it new from AOA like in the third week in April. I’m checking to see if changes were made to address those two things between this gun and the recent shipment that you now have.

My 30 cal LCS is coming in today from AOA. I had to ship it back due to a floppy selector lever in the semi to full auto function. It flopped around loosely, and would pop out of full auto and flip to semi auto on its own just from the vibration of the gun while firing in full auto. I was told it was a manufacturers defect and AOA already had the part in to fix it. Supposedly now it has definitive stops, like detent stops, at all three selection points. I’ll know for sure this afternoon when the gun comes in.

What kind of power do these guns make in .30? I've been curious about their power potential in the bigger bore caliber.

I’ve got mine up to 966 FPS with the 44.75g pellets. There was plenty of room left on the power knob to turn, but I stopped there

How does one simply stop there??? I'm incapable of not seeing what's left in that "plenty of room" area, LOL :D

Mine was at 900 FPS with 44gr, I left it there. It's shooting dime groups at 35 yards so far (almost 1 hole) @ 890FPS w JSB 44gr and FX 46gr

1: My rail is flush at the front and blends in perfeclty at the rear, I see what your talking about. Mine is spaced and sized perfect. The rear selector has detents now, and some extra markings (a dot on each side).

2. No flopping of anything on mine. The reg dial has detents, (click adjuistments), so it's can't un adjust, but there is definatly nothing loose. I wanted to take my barrel out for cleaning but it didn't have 2 screws on the block like the manual said. It had a different 2 screws where the barrel passes through the frame at 2 spots, but one was so tight, It just bent my allen wrench...wouldn't bust loose. So the barrel wasn't coming out. 

AOA was really nice to me at first, now they don't return my emails at all. It's wierd. I'm starting to become a fan of smaller stores like Tony and Charlie. I'm tired of falling through the cracks at AOA and Utah...if your that busy, hire a freakin secretary to answer your emails! 

Utah aint too bad, they do respond to me, but there is so much going on there, that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing half the time. 

Those guys are all good people...just too big for thier own good in my opinion. If I was running that show, I would hire enough people to get the job done.

, I have never been one to send any gun in to be serviced, ever. But with a new gun and a manufacturers defect on a safety part of the gun, I thought it would be best. So, this was my first dealings with AOA-

I only had to deal with two AOA staff members- head of tech service Shane and head of sales Darren. All I can say is, wow! They both were awesome. First off, the LCS I own is one I will always look at in a special way, as I believe the previous owner who sold it to me in a last ditch emergency the minute he received it, is probably up there with the Lord at this moment or dang close to it. AOA knew about this man’s situation, and since I was not the original owner for warranty purposes they still accommodated me as if I was. So, if any of those two or any AOA staff member reads this, a big thank you to you all. Shane was very patient throughout all of this, returned every email, and Darren was no different as he always returned the voice messages I left him.

Nate, give it time, they’ll get back to you. Sometimes we all don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives that affect how a business is run. I personally would rather deal with someone getting back to me late on an email or phone call, than have someone interrupt me over the phone contemplating a purchase of a gun by saying “are you gonna buy or are you just kickin’ tires?” For sure I’m never buying from from that place!

...yeah, AOA has hooked me up numerous times. I should still be thanking them. We are working together on a couple Daystate videos. The 110V Daystate Compressor and the .22 Delta Wolf. ...been waiting over 6 months for both to arrive. I just want to get the Delta Wolf over with! It's taken way too long to get.

EVERY video on the Delta Wolf on Youtube so far, shows groups that I can get with an Air Venturi Avenger. I hope it's worth my $3K.
