Hey FX little help - Issue Resolved

I just got my Wildcat in .25 and so far I love it!! Smooth,quiet,accurate,lite.the only issue I am having is it is not cycling or indexing the mag every time I work the action,I will get off 3 clean shots and it will jam,the arm or cam does not seem to rotate the mag fully and I will have to move the mag clockwise and pull the cocking arm back and then forward,there is nothing about this in the Manuel that I have seen,any thoughts?is there an adjustment for this?does not stop me from enjoying this gun,but want to get this straightened out.

The first time you put the mag in the gun and pull the cocking arm back, give it a slight more pull back gently. That should cycle the mag and align it properly. This is what I tried the first time I got my Hatsan. It worked. Give it a shot.

Thanks for the tip,but the problem is intermittent ,will work good for half a mag ,then it just won't rotate enough to push the probe in till you move the mag a little clockwise

Hello Siscakidd,

Here is a little guide to see if the "mag indexing catch" is working properly.

Start by removing the Cheek rest 



and then remove the sidplate, Be vary of the spring located under the plate might fall out if you arent aware at this stage



when the plate is gone try to hold pressure on the spring as if the plate was still there and while at the far back in the reload check to see if the mag indexing catch is as in the picture



if this seems to be in order.

Check if the magnet and steelball is in place, it holds the catch and magazine in place.

Ok ,went and took it apart and found that the arm had an irregular bend to it,kinda like a jagged S,if that makes sense,took a pair of pliers to it made it straight and reassembled it,works smooth as butter now,thanks for getting back to me so quick....love the gun.

FX, I'm sitting on the sidelines to see how the Wildcat turns out, seeing this kind of support and response is very comforting. There have been some bugs, I guess that's expected, keep up the good work and help all that have bought your product and I will be a customer of yours in the near future.

This was helpful got a new wildcat 22 a few days ago mag would not cycle. Took a little work but after a few tries if is now working. Happy I don't have to ship it back.

Hi Guys

I posted on another Wilcat discussion on this Forum about my mag being scratched and depositing paint and metal shavings in the breech. Thanks to Travel4Fun for pointing me to this page. I wil try this to see if I can smooth it off. Thanks FX for a great rifle, and I agree with the rest here that the support shown is excellent. Please keep up the good work!

Was having the same problem, magazine wouldn't index, had even sent back my 3 spare mags. thinking this was the problem...called Straight Shooters where I purchased it for help, they gave me this link and told me to see if this fix helped....PRESTO..mag indexes and I can load the next pellet.BUT be careful and only bend it a little at a time...too much is big trouble also...a little goes a long way..

PS Sure hope FX comes out with a manual for the Wildcat soon

I did as instructed to check mag catch. I tried a couple of skinny 'shims' rather than take a file to it but had to take a wee bit off. I was very careful and to be honest could do with another couple of runs on the file. Much better than it was. Thanks again.

I had this same problem with my first .22 wildcat, I think they are using a hardened steel for that plate now? We used a tiny brass mallet to tap it straight.
