High end compact 16 mag optic?

+1 on the Meopta if you don't mind some bulk. I had an Optika6 3x18 on an FX compact and thougth it was on the edge of too much. Ended up with an Athlon Ares BTR 2.5x15, very happy with that out to 100 yds.

So far I like this 10x40 Immersive Optics, great FOV, glass and reticle. Short eye relief is the downside.

That's my biggest issue right now hunting for scopes for the taipan, eye relief needs to be a relatively long distance

Roger that, I am just OK with it in my setup. I was all set on the US Optics 3-12, but the "2 in stock" when I clicked buy became "estimated to ship in 1-3 months." Those 1-3 months are prime time for the critters in my neighborhood.

Take a look at the Athlon Ares ETR 3-18x50 FFP available in Mil or MOA....fantastic glass and turrets. Best prices are usually from CameraLandNY....best scope for the money in my humble opinion. I have the Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 FFP MOA and it's outstanding but the ETR is even better. Another one is the Meopta Optika6 3-18x50 FFP, very similar to ETR.

Very similar spec to the Veyron you just let go… why this one?

I am a what if its better kind of guy. My titan for instance had very similar specs to a lower budget scope of very similar specs. Huge difference night and day. This may be a dumb move, who knows!?

Happy shooting!

Liberty Optics LLC

Vortex Razor HD LHT SFP 3-15x 42/50 riflescopes

Pricey but great optics, uncluttered reticle with just the center dot illuminated.
Usually has a Labor Day sale with good discounts.
~13” OAL and 19-20oz
I looked up this scope. Wow! Nice specs on this and the reticle is great. 20 yd focus. Liberty has 4-6 week wait, EuroOptic has them in stock.

Matthias, have you ever had a chance to check out Meopta scopes?

Thanks for the reminder. 👍🏼 It's been a while that I went through their lineup.
Back then my limit for inclusion in my Scope Specs Table was $500. So they didn't have much, and their reticle availability for each was outright confusing.

Well, as I slide further down endlessly deep rabbit hole of airgunning I have relaxed that limit somewhat.... (Every time I walk by my piggy-bank the piggy gives me the stink eye.)
Ergo, I need to revisit Meopta. 👍🏼

Here's one that I have my eye on, that fits into your rabbit hole :ROFLMAO:

You are probably limited where you can buy scopes, correct? Can you purchase through Krale?

The Meopta Optika5 4-20x44:

Well...., it's really really light, 21.5oz (609g) — partly bec. of its 1" tube and small-ish 44mm objective.
13.5" (34cm) is on the short side, good for bullpups.

$450 at the link above, nice price!

The 28ft FoV (4x) is just enough for my taste.

A 44mm objective lens I have decided is too small for me personally — because I need lots of light for slo-mo scopecam filming.

60moa max. elevation adjustment (due because of the 1" small-ish tube) for some is a non-issue, for the turret dialers among us this might be an issue if you want to go long range.

I prefer FFP over SFP, but that's just my preference.

What rules out this scope off any of my Specs Tables are the capped turrets. Capped turrets seem to be the manufacturer's way of saying: "Go and zero the scope with the turrets — then leave them alone for goodness sake! They are not built to withstand dialing every shot!"
If I really need protection against bumps, I'll get locking turrets — done.

Yes, I am a die hard dialer..... 🤣

Thankfully, I have "airgun mules" — nice people, family, and friends who live in the US and when they happen to travel to Peru they bring me airgun goodies down.... 😊
I'm very thankful to them.
Without them buying airgun stuff while living Peru would be like trying to find water in the desert that surrounds my city..... 👍🏼
