Hill 3000 (310) or JTS Comp100 compressor for FX Impact M4 & buddy bottles?

OK, I found the GX CS4 shipped for $495 after discount.

What grease is recommended? Some kind of pure silicone?

What type of coolant?

What have you all been using for water control in the air line?
This is probably one of the easiest to maintain compressors you'll find

You probably won't be needing any grease for a long time. You shouldn't even consider greasing before 6 hours of use and even then it's done sparingly and only as needed. So don't worry about it. There are posts where users have over-greased their units and that causes a mess to clean up, so don't do that.

Distilled water. You don't need coolant unless you plan on leaving it out in freezing temps.

I use a mechanical seperator. If your RH isn't too high, you can probably live witout a seperator, but most people would consider it cheap insurance.

It’s ordered!

Ease of maintenance, I like to hear that. And no I do not want to muck it up!
I’m in Michigan. It’ll be in my basement ost of the time - which gets cold but not freezing. It does get very humid at times in the summers though so I would like some kind of separator. Do you have a link or name of ones you’d recommend?

You do need coolant or something else to protect from corrosion. Straight distilled water will ruin the aluminum over time.

This will be available soon. It's the perfect companion to the CS line, especially the cs4

No you don't. And it's not like the little bit of water that's circulating is going to corrode your line.

It even says to use distilled water in the instructions
They do need some type of protection. The early ones were sold with a type of water wetter.

I could dig through the trash later and show you a destroyed compressor from just water. There's actually 3 of them here. The copper and aluminum rot with no protection... same thing will happen in a car, it's no different.

maybe so, but mine explicitly instructed the use of distilled water/ anti-freeze optional if leaving it out in freezing temps

You'll definitely want to add something though.

Google distilled water and aluminum corrosion and Distilled water copper corrosion

Warm areas only need 15 to 20 percent Anti-Freeze.

There's a copper tube in the center of the piston going to the cylinder head that will rot where the metals meet. One came in that was just about a year old before it went bad.

I agree that it needs something in addition to distilled water. Aluminum, dissimilar metals, and whatnot always need something such as coolant, water wetter, or something to aid it in deterring corrosion. I have experience in motorcycles, autos, and I suppose more appropriate in this case water cooling computers. It may be a bit anal, but I just see it as a little extra insurance to ensure it’ll last as long as possible :)

Do you have any info on what this is?
It is a 40mpa filter that GX has coming out soon.
I'll chat with them tonight to get a better ETA on them. But they have been heavily tested by GX

It has dual bleed valves and beads inside that can be replaced. Magnetic to stick to the side of your compressor and other features.

What went wrong with both of them?
Unknown they just quit working. I filled a gun directly from the compressor. Went to use it the next day and it was dead. Returned it to PA, they sent a replacement which was a used item. Same scenario, fill the gun and nothing after that. Return it and got a refund

OK, sounds good. If they are all that I’ll be picking up one of those.

Well that’s disappointing to hear, especially at the price. Those aren’t exactly cheap. At least it sounds like the company tried to make it right for you.
