Hill EC-3000

I wanted the Maximize the air flow around the multi-stage cylinder..
Without any dead air space...
If I had change the direction to draw air Out.... It would help draw out air
But I would have to make a Fan shroud to get air flow fully Around the cylinder.
So with both fans blowing on the cylinder. The cylinder and interconnecting tubes
are getting more airflow across them....

I just run a fan from the side at at about 45 degrees from the direction of the OEM one.
The compressor housing still gets hot, not sure it really does any good. Not sure how others are able to get the Hill to keep going without stopping. Perhaps I need to try either the other direction or in the direction that would be 'against' the stock one.

I live in the central valley of California.
It does get warm here...
So doing multiple 300 bar fills.....
Even with the added fan, My EC-3000 will do a thermal shut down.
But not for long... the Extra fan helps!! Also these shut down don't occur as often too.
There is only so much Thermal abuse those rubber O-ring piston rings can take!!
Keep in mind this isn't a full sized compressor...like my W31...With metal Piston rings!!!!

had my hill for about 7/mo . I had a problem with it first 1month but Hill support is fantastic they helped me solve the issue fast and even sent me free parts.

I fill 4400psi and most of my guns and it never shuts off once.

I TOP OFF MY scba 4500psi tank from 3000psi to 4400psi takes about 2 cooldown periods

Runs like a champ!

coming up on 35hours runtime
how do you contact their support? i have problem getting them to reply

I bought mine from Pyramyd Air and it was the "Air Venturi" branded model. I was filling my guns the other day and heard this loud bang and the compressor lost all its pressure. I emailed Hill (no response yet) but called PA and then Air Venturi. I got a support person at AV and we walked through the problem and it appears that one of the 5k burst disks blew out. My compressor has 11 hours on it. I went from filling my EVOL to then my Huben - which I set at the max 310. It blew out on the Huben fill. AV is sending me 2 burst disks and I order a couple more from Amazon (no one had one available locally at all). Very happy with AVs support. The support person stayed on the line while we took the burst disks out and looked at them. Here's what it looks like when it blows:

Strange
@Ca_Varminter - that's exactly how I sent them the information. Still waiting, but since AV seems to have taken the 1st level of support, no harm - no foul!
Strange...... I just sent a inquiry about if they could update my EC-3000 to the new Software version....
Ollie replied in a couple of day..... this was about a month or 2 ago.........
BTW.... They aren't planning to at this time......

I ask him that about a YEAR ago anf he quickly said it's up to date as far as he was concerned, mine is going strong

The Latest software update... the EC3000 will fill up 310 bar/4500 psi.
Also it has a new compensation feature to tune the compressor.
It will allow you to adjust the displayed pressure if it was off...

Mine goes to 310 on the version of software I have. But my alpha filter lost a gasket and I took it out of the fill chain waiting for the repair kit from Joe B and I did notice that my guns filled a lot quicker (didn't have to pressure up the 2nd filter) and the 5k burst disk went after I filled my EVOL to 260 and then went to the Huben at 310. It blew while filling the Huben. I will get the specialized grease on Monday and will rebuild the alpha filter and I will also get the 5K burst disks from Amazon - the another pad from Air Venturi later next week (spares now).

Courios, how dose one update the firmware on one of the compressors, I see no jack of adapter on the unit

The only way would be a controller board swap out!!
But Like I said.... Ollie says they don't plan any sort of update/upgrade path for existing compressor.... I missed the new Version by a couple of months...
