Hill MK4 or Air Venturi Power Booster

I have a bad ass wildcat 22cal and shot about 40 to 60 pellets a week a clip each day. I have a shop compressor and right now have a Benjamin pump with a pneumatic cylinder that makes pumping easy but I don't think the Benjamin pump will last the distance so I have 2 options buy a hill pump or the booster. But which give me the most longjevity with out problems? I am leaning towards the booster so that the benajmin will be a back up. I don't know about ether can the hill pump be used in the horizontal position ? We have a bunch of overtime coming up so the wife wont get cranky spending money. Hill or booster owners any bad points or anyone for that matter thanks

If you want a power booster the last one to buy is the Air Venturi brand. Search this forum and you'll see that not only have there been reliability issues with this new booster, but service for them is a problem because it is unfamiliar to their service people. Power boosters such as the Altaros, Air Venturi, or the Shoebox F10 aren't as cost competitive as they used to be when you add in the expense of moisture filtration filters, plumbing, and a first stage compressor. If this is the route you wish to take, the Shoebox F10 makes the most sense of the booster category because it's price was recently lowered to $500. The Altaros requires a lot of air just to push the booster piston. It needs a large air compressor air output to replace the work that the motor does for the Shoebox. The Altaros costs $200 more than an F10 Shoebox plus the expense of a larger input compressor. The Air Venturi costs $300 more and seems to be least proven of these three.

Just a thought, in that picture , turn the pump over so the bleeder is on the bottom side as that's where the water exits.

Personally I love my altros booster , purchased a $100.00"Hotdog" compressor on sale but you already have one so... Any comp. will run the altros as it it adjustable, a lower psi/gpm just fill slower but cause no harm

The shoebox has come down in recent months, seems a good value at the current price. Add the " gold filter" folks talk about for another $75 or so unless perhaps your air is already dry enough to paint ( just a thought ).

Stick with something that does have a track record, any of them and ENJOY having all that air.

I looked at the altros never used one and don't know anything about the product or the manufacture but when its built into a plastic tool box it turns me off for that reason alone even though looks can be deceiving. The shoebox is $500 overtime at work starts Monday so I bought the hill M4 and in two weeks I am going to order a shoebox F10 and a Diablo dryer maybe if the OT lasts a couple months might have another WILDCAT in the stable ahahhah.

I would soon rather fill my PCPs by blowing into them with my lungs than to buy the AV Booster again.
I bought an Altaros from a member here and it has worked flawlessly. Yes, I had the same trepidation of it being a cheap plastic toolbox, so got the solid looking AV instead, mistake! Got sent back for repairs the first time, and returned for refund the second time.
The Altaros is slow, but I fill my tank when I’m working around the house and the tank fills the gun fast many times.
