I have early model HM1000 with a stock that wrapped around the bottle. I wish I could say that I disassembled everything and modified the stock. The truth is, I was in a hurry one day, forgot, and just pulled the thing apart, instantly breaking those ears off the stock. The good news, it broke almost perfectly symmetrical, and a few minutes work made it look like it was made that way, best scew up ever! I don't understand the reports that people can easily turn that V block under pressure. Mine doesn't turn until I have removed the bottle and drained the plenum. I don't think that you would do any harm by cracking the foster fitting or gauge to drain. But your best bet is to wait for Martin.
